Signups/Introduction:
Welcome to the world of Etrian Odyssey.
This game will transpire roughly over the course of ten days, offering participants the role of an adventurer who has journeyed to the town of Etria, with one purpose in mind: uncovering the secrets of the Yggdrasil Labyrinth which exists beneath the village.
(For clarification: this game is not a Phalla.)
As with all journeys, mystery and treasure awaits those who venture into the Labyrinth, along with the constant peril of death: whether it occur as a result of the dangers of the Labyrinth itself, or the numerous creatures that lurk within its depths.
The explorers will at first face great peril, but as time goes on, they will strengthen as a result of their trials, and grow further prepared for the stronger dangers that await deeper beneath Etria.
In addition to facing the dangers of the Labyrinth, the adventurers may also find themselves tasked with charting its depths, accomplishing various quests and tasks along the way, and continuing to keep themselves upgraded for further exploration: both through acquisition of equipment, and maintaining their own statistics.
What transpires from there, is entirely up to you.
In signing up, there are also choices to be made.
Firstly, decide a name for yourself. This doesn't need to be your own name; in fact, it might be best for you to create a new one, in keeping with the character you hope to develop along the way.
This can either be done in public through the sign-up process, or in private, via PM.
Secondly, decide your class, or character type. This will be the heart of the explorer you utilize throughout the game: this will determine its abilities, statistics, and the means in which it can contend with the various threats of the Labyrinth.
This decision should be made privately, and sent via PM.
The following are the basics on the class options presented for the game, and offer an idea of their strengths and weaknesses.
This decision may be altered until the game begins, but at that point, it will be considered final.
There is a limitation on classes, and their usage will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The images provided may also be selected from to base your character's appearance on, if you prefer, but this isn't required: they're provided more for a visual representation of the class type.
Pros: Balanced front-line attackers with great physical prowess.
Cons: Not gifted in other areas, can be short-sighted in defense.
Pros: A high defense makes them the most capable of protecting themselves and others.
Cons: Reduced physical talent compared to other warriors. Their willingness to put others’ safety first tends to place their own lives in danger.
Pros: Adventurers able to gather increased items and extra information from their environments.
Cons: Average physical and defensive attributes.
Pros: Their attacks can not only damage the enemy, but also hinder their ability to retaliate.
Cons: Their strength and defense are not as strong as that of other frontline warriors.
Pros: Unparalleled in the healing arts to mend wounded companions and even revive fallen friends.
Cons: Below-average defense and strength, though with time, a skilled Medic may be able to overcome these flaws.
Pros: Their skills can prove effective where physical attacks fail, and they can attack multiple foes at once.
Cons: Significant lack of physical strength or defense.
Pros: The melodies of a Troubadour enhance the statistics of those they travel with, increasing their effectiveness to new heights.
Cons: While gifted in boosting statistics of others, their own stats are generally weak.
Pros: Skilled in the usage of various combat styles, each with their own specialized way of dealing with enemies.
Cons: Below average defense.
Pros: Capable of weakening and even redirecting the strengths of enemies.
Cons: Weak defense and strength; lacking in offensive ability.
There are 40 spaces available.
The game will begin once the slots are filled, and more information will be offered at that time, in addition to the possibility of occasional updates.
Signups may be done in !lime, or equally attention-getting color.
