Why the fuck don't you read Cap? Are you some sort of communist?

It's basically just continuity porn at this point. Kind of fun, but slow and at times confusing due to all the plot points Waid's juggling.

Brave and the Bold is still really good, especially after the first arc. No more Perez though, but Jerry Ordway is taking over with this months issue (with Scott Kolins filling in for June).

Not much for me this week. I'm debating on even going to the shop this week for such a small stack.

See if it was me I wouldn't be able to wait for Iron Fist. So I'd go anyway. Luckily my shop is right on the way home so I can decide what to get in the next few hrs while at work and grab stuff on the way back.

Looks like Blue Beetle, Iron Fist and some trades. Maybe singles of Herc? Maybe singles of Criminal or Checkmate? Sort of depends what they have. I also kinda want the Ex Machina trade.

QUERY: Am I an evil person for preferring trades to singles? I trade-wait on nearly everything, since I like my books on shelves and I haven't started a longbox. I really only buy singles (like Blue Beetle) if I really love the comic AND it needs the support. Is this bad?

I'm the same way. Singles are more expensive, littered with ads, have additional costs associated with them (bags and boards that need replaced periodically), and they're cumbersome to store. The only books I'm still getting in singles are the ones I've already collected in that format for a while. Or minis, since I just stick those in a labeled folder on my bookshelf.

It's pretty quality. It's not astounding, but it's a good book.

Plus, Matt Fraction has read the scripts for the next issues and says it'll be the Iron Fist of this year, so I'll stick around for a little bit.

Flaming Skull on a Motorcycle is already pretty much universally beloved.

It's just a question of what the Flaming Skull and His Motorcycle actually do that has killed the book so many times in the past.

I'm going to go ahead and blame Keith for me just purchasing three Blue Beetle trades when I can't really afford to be buying things.
Seriously, when I get asked for my rent this week I'm going to be like "Blue Beetle--it was Keiths' fault!". Not sure who I can blame my purchase of Iron Fist on though--maybe Bruce Lee? I'll work something out.

Also guys, is Punisher MAX worth picking up? I heard good things from people, but these were stupid people and my comic book shop is a long way to travel for something sucktacular.

most of the punisher max stories totally fucking rule. the best are-

    the slavers

    barracuda

    man of stone

    mother russia

the others are all pretty good and definitely worth picking up (especially since there are recurring characters throughout the series, but you don't really need to have seen any one of them in the past to get what's going on in a given story), but those ones are the best.

It's more mature than what you'd expect from Garth Ennis, though it is still a bit one-dimensional and some arcs are certainly worth skipping. Anyway, if you don't mind bleak storytelling and have no moral compunctions about seeing scum get what they deserve, then certainly read one of the aforementioned storylines to see if this is your thing.
