But most of my stories involve people not knowing that I am deaf. My friends tell me I give a fairly cold impression to guys who try to hit on me at bars. If I do not see them then they just assume I am ignoring them. They think it is amusing to see a guy walk up and sit down beside me at the bar, say hi, and then awkwardly sit there for a minute waiting for me to respond.

How far along are you in reaching this goal? I have always held an interest in the way people perceive their own gender, and how this affects them in life when they decide to switch.
The Far Side how do you plan on paying for the physical portion?
I do not mean to pry, I am just genuinely curious. It is my understanding that male-female gender reassignment is prohibitively expensive for the majority of people who wish to utilize it.
