Do you think anyone will really go see new Hulk and new Punisher?

I think most people won't read enough into them to know that they're not sequels, and many of the ones who do but aren't comic fans still won't care.

And I won't go because Punisher looks horrible, and the Hulk franchise seems so off track that I'd rather not even give it a chance.

I don't think anyone remembers the other Hulk movie well enough to care about it, same with the Punisher.

Punisher wasn't going to do enough business to matter, and Hulk is a movie where a giant monster smashes the hell out of things. Hulk will do fine.

I might use them as excuses to get together with friends who are similarly vaguely interested in seeing them, based on either the trailer or the property.

If they're good, great! If they're not so good, then we ridicule them MST3K style.

    Either way, we win.

I don't know anyone in real life who disliked it.
It would have done MUCH better at the theater if it didn't open next to Kill Bill.

The new one D: Tom Jane refused the part because he felt the script wasn't Punisher enough. The guy is a huge Frank Castle fan but he didn't want his name attached to a Punisher movie he felt was crap.

Yeah... never underestimate an actor as good as Norton... nor one as hot as Tyler. And hell, Tim Roth? Tim Roth is freaking awesome. While I may not be looking forward to Hulk as much as Batman, they're both going to be getting my semi-hard earned dollars.

Also, I hate those Punisher picks, because they always use an angle that makes the guy look like Stephen Segal. And no one wants that...

Oh I forgot about Tim Roth (how the hell did I forget that) and yes I'm not as pumped for this as say Iron Man or even Batman but it's got to be better than a lot of the other crap we are going to have thrown at us this summer.

Yeah, I realised this is the general consensus among comic book fans - that Tom Jane saved the movie from being total crap. But I thought he was just as bad as Frank Castle as the setting, the plot, the dialogue and John Travolta. I don't get the animosity for the new Punisher either, from what I read of it so far, it sounds far truer to the character and the MAX series than the previous movie iteration. I mean, you can tell from the stills alone that it's inspired by Punisher MAX (discounting the costume, which looks like a gritty-fied homage of Frank's original costume).

    Also, Titus Pullo man.

Unless the gore is on par with Punisher MAX, it won't be Punisher MAX. Rather than being confronted with the horror justice itself must become in order to properly confront the evils of the world, we'll have a run of the mill action film featuring a symbol that looks great on merchandise.

The only problem with the TJ Punisher movie was that the minute they got to any portion of the script that was ripped verbatim from a Garth Ennis Punisher issue, the movie went olol rofl lulz.

I thought the Russian bit was handled well. The lack of dialog was probably a good thing, though originally I remember being disappointed by it. Essentially they replaced the funny talking with the funny juxtaposition of violence and friends singing opera. It kept the feeling of the comic book scene while not allowing it to feel over the top corny. Just too bad The Russian didn't die the same way as in the book.

It is just unfortunate that we will never see the rebuilt Russian vs. Spider-man in a movie.

I felt the entire scene was out of sync with the rest of the movie.

I'm not saying the scene was bad; I liked the scene (like I enjoyed it in the book). I also enjoyed the rest of the movie.

I just don't think the two combined properly.
