    I tried to sew once.

Ended up jamming the needle right into the side of my thumb.

Once upon a time my mother taught me how to embroider a bit and now, years later and thousands of miles away I impressed the hell out of some housewives running an arts and crafts activity for the towns kids but still being able to do it.

I learned how to sew in the Navy.

Well, I learned that those times where I pushed a thread through two pieces of cloth officially counted as sewing anyway.

In the army they mad eme and a guy from vietmnam (the only two who could sew) spend a whole week patching up the big canvas tents.

After that guys who had procrastinated getting rank and name tags sewn on would come and bug me the night before an inspection to fix their shit

My mum always gets me to put the thread through the needle whenever she needs to sew something. I cn always get it in one shot, and it always takes everyone else ages.

    Just thought I'd share that.

I had to attempt sewing in Home Ec class in 8 grade. I passed with a bit of difficulty. I was awkward in my teenage years. But i got better and now I am rather graceful.

I have purchased two of the same blanket with the intent of hacking a few feet off of one and adding it to the other as there does not seem to be a single blanket for sale in all of Japan that was made with my two meter frame in mind.

We were all taught to sew in the military. No, trained to sew, beginning with a sergeant giving instructions on how to hold the needle.
