he said he got to a level of proficiency in which he could talk to most anyone about anything by four summers of intensive study in really good programs, classes in college and living for russia for a year

i don't even remember them all anymore, since well i don't live there anymore and my proficiency is declining. still, even if i don't remember the particular rules, i just go by what sounds right.
