Phallout has given me a distaste for abstaination, so !TrueNeverborn. Also, voting for yourself is a classic "don't worry guys, I'm not a badguy!" move.
Otherwise I got nothing.

No matter which win condition we pursue, we have to do it before the Dark Ones are stronger than us. So I propose that we keep casualties to a minimum and that we only vote someone off when it's absolutely necessary. Losing extra people can only hurt us.
We have to vote one person off each day. Them's the rules. The Dark Others will be voting one person off a night as well, so we won't "fall behind" by bandwagonning.
Think of this game as two villages, each with mafia, but each also competing with the other village. You win by either eliminating your mafia or by eliminating the other village. Unless, of course, you're mafia.

Yeah, that's what it seems Delro. We don't know how many fanatics there are for each side (or I completely missed it), but it might be easier of a win to focus on them instead of worrying about the Darkies. If we're lucky, there won't be a lot of em, and we might have powers more suited to finding fanatics than we do eliminating Darkies, being Light and all. We also won't risk poofing by voting out fanatics, as opposed to a war with the other thread where we are at a disadvantage. (This is opposite for them, their risk is taken in the vote, not assaults.)
I didn't think of that, Infidel, but you're exactly right. They'll more than likely spend their time trying to get rid of the lot of us, which means we're going to have to find our fanatical friends, and fast, in order to get to them before the dark side gets to us.
If we off too many mafia too early though, we will be outnumbered by the Dark Others who will probably go all out attack at that point. This game will be a delicate balancing act, and if one team gets too unbalanced, they will most likely lose.

The dark ones suffer no infraction from attacking their own fanatics.
Like us, both options are equally viable for them.
EDIT: But if we, as a village, choose to pursue the 3x power route to victory, the fanatics will become our "specials" and our puritans become our "mafia."

If us Lighters stick to vote killing and investigation, we should maintain the number advantage. If we have the kind of death toll that the Darkies get, or worse, then they are probably interfering and we may have to adjust and just go for a Light win.

Yeah, neither side is really worse than the other to us, since we can win with either victory condition. It matters more to them what path we take, and that path decides which is "special" and which is "mafia" doesn't it?

Transformers Phalla, is that you?
!Grundlterror seems pretty evil to me.
Well, let's get to it. I put on my robe and wizard hat.
No, that was something different.
Incidentally, I actually ran that game live (i.e. not on the internet) this past Tuesday with some rule changes. It was still horrifically broken.
I don't know what I'm going to do with it.
I'll give everything a proper read through after my calc final tonight, try not to win the game by then.
Otherwise I got nothing.

Today's an extra long day to give you guys enough time to ask clarifications questions and plan.
No vote yet then
