also, the Death Knight info from WoW makes me giggle, especially a certain ability. People in beta know what I'm talking about and are probably also laughing.
The DK in WoW left a bitter taste in my mouth and contributed to my leaving the game. So far as I know it's only one hero class. There should be like...8 or something imo. Why do you only have the option to become some 2h tank/dps monstrosity?

Back to the "movement" discussion.
What if "inertia" was a secondary stat attributed to mass? Basically every time you run you spend a little bit of time at walking speed. For heavier tank-like classes it's kind of always the same...We'll use a 2 second example:
-Because they have heavy armor and weigh a lot, they travel walking speed 2 seconds before running when not in combat.
-In combat, attacks/blocking mean he's going to move at walking speed for 2.2 seconds before running.
-For a middle-class dps, they don't weigh as much so it's only 1 seconds to start running when not in combat.
-In combat, more extravagent blocking/dodging means they take 2.8 seconds before running
-For a caster who weighs very little, acceleration only lasts .2-.5 seconds.
-In combat, every hit hurts like hell and problably bowls them over so they have 3.3 seconds of acceleration.
The numbers are somewhat arbitrary but you get the idea. Weight and armor modifiers could exist. So could weapons. I also define entering combat as taking damage - not performing an attack and not being retaliated on. This way a caster could fire off a spell and move, or a melee could chase and keep up.
Another possibility is to base it off damage taken. So while a melee gets 2-3 hits in per fireball, he can still be slowed so the mage has an opportunity to get away...tank movement affects from attacks and speed enhancements notwithstanding.
+ positition could be a factor. If you get hit from the back you slow down, like the Daze affect in WoW.

The "Hero Class" title is nothing but a fluff description they are giving DK's, when in fact all they will be is another playable class. Other than starting at level 55 they will be no different from any other classes in terms of balance.
Also, which of you fuckers was grabbing dicks in DC today sporting the six mouths hoody?
had to do it...just had to
but yeah lots of text walling about combat slowing and such while I'm at work, no fun i don't work at a desk : / , pet care specialists don't get desks.
anywase, slowing in combat will never work because it will create a situation where no one will ever be forced into a combat situation they will lose, it will turn into a constant game of finding the fight you can win while avoiding the ones you'll lose...no actuall fighting will ever be done.

Isn't you know, starting a class at 55 basically saying that anything below that is COMPLETELY irrelevant?

You guys.. I come home from work and the thread has grown like 6 pages. What if there was relevant information buried some where in there? I would of never found it through all this nonsense! For shame!
I'd like to inform you all that you are cocks. What? Yes, cocks. Because all your damn yapping about WAR has made me want to play it so much that I'm considering getting back into the table top game after years of being clean, just to get a Warhammer fix. I was clean, damn you all!
Unless you meant the RPG, which I suspect is no worse than most D&D or Rifts campaigns.
Oh no, I mean full on 4-5 layers of highlighting/shading, heavily converted, custom movement tray madness. I had Dark Elf and Chaos for WHF and Dark angels and Tau for 40k. I really like the games, it was the ever escalating GW prices and some of the mouth breathing neck beards that live in game shops that made me switch to Warmachine and then quit table top games altogether.

yeah i was pritty heavy into M:TG, i still slobber over the books, but not so much the cards anymore, me and my friend just tag team (haha inuendo) and 2 headed giant every couple of months at the local social anxiety depot with our no rules decks (non competition, any cycle goes) he's on offence with his nightmare/manastarve deck and i play defense with my white guard/protection/redirect deck...i miss the old days of Magic, all this new stuff is silly...especially kammi gawa (or whatever it's called) i hated that cycle and refuse to achnowledge any cards from it..
...we really should start a seperate [chat] for the tangents this thread keeps taking
Guys who would win in a fight, Tzeentch or SUPERMAN?
Edit: Replace Superman with Goku or Batman for added fun.
Tzeentch would beat Superman easily, since Superman is weak to magic.
But Batman would totally beat Tzeentch, because he is actually the God Emperor in disguise.

I suspect you're the only one who got it.
I felt my neckbeard growing while I typed that.
No, that's just your ironic question detector you feel. ;-)

Also, I hunger for beta and food.
Mostly beta.

Well, let's talk about newly released WAR information.

Dot dot dot.
Dawt dawt dawt.
Anyways, who is liable to be removed from the Guild Beta still? We should mock them mercilessly in seven hours and eleven minutes time.
Also, which of you fuckers was grabbing lunch at moby dicks in DC today sporting the six mouths hoody?

Did you see what I did there? Did you?
Such brilliance walking hand in hand with madness, it must truly be the work of Tzeentch.

What I'm saying is that I was into 'cardboard crack', and even I look at the hardcore table top Warhammer gamers and say "Woah, a step too far."
Unless you meant the RPG, which I suspect is no worse than most D&D or Rifts campaigns.
Well, you tend to die a lot more. A lot more. And not come back.

I mean seriously, you're comparing some superhero to a god that is so powerful that it can rip the very fabric of the mortal plane into pieces?
