How the hell did Infidel know I went to see Speed Racer last night?
I say, bit of a rough go of it for those dead chaps. Bit more dying going on than I had anticipated, eh wot? Perhaps some sort of vigilante blokes operating in our midst?
Must be vigilantes, either that or some powerful magic or concentrated attacks.
I don't think most people have the power to take someone from max to zero hp in a single night. So, my guess is that there are some insta-kill vigilante powers floating about.
I guess I'll have to watch from the sidelines now.

The witch concluded her analysis and sat down. The group was seated around a wooden table similar to the one from the previous meeting. The location for their discussions changed every time, but it seemed as if the rooms all shared the same dingy characteristics. The old man at the head of the table nodded and addressed his audience.
“We must be even more vigilant than before. We have the sympathy of many of our colleagues in the Day Watch, but it only takes one Other overly devoted to the Treaty to ruin our entire operation. There is nothing you can do that is too paranoid; every precaution mu—“
The door slammed open and a Dark Other dashed into the room. “There…there’s news of Franco.â€
The old man at the head of the table was instantly on his feet. “Well? Spit it out, I haven’t got all night!â€
The man swallowed and said, “He…he was ambushed by a Light One on his way to Prague. Franco is dead…the Light Ones have the Vial.â€
Nobody breathed. All eyes were on the leader as he stared at the man at the door. “And where is the Vial now?†he asked quietly.
“It…um…we’ve…we’ve lost track of it…†the messenger stuttered.
The old man nodded and took a deep breath. He slammed his hands onto the table, which shattered instantly into thousands of tiny splinters. Shards of wood went flying across the room. The lesser Dark Ones suffered a hundred pricks from the table’s remains, while the more powerful Others calmly raised a small shield to protect themselves. The messenger shielded his face with his arm, and when he looked up, the old man was standing in front of him. The leader’s arm shot out and grabbed the man by the throat, shoving him up against the wall.
“Tell those fools in Infotech that this is unacceptable,†the old man said in a low voice. “You will find who has the vial, and you will find them fast. Do not fail me, or the consequences will be dire.†He leaned in and whispered in the man’s ear. “You will have better news next time, or I will bring you down to the third level and the Twilight will consume your soul.†He snarled nastily and thrust forward, shoving the messenger through the wall and into the hallway. The man hit the opposite wall and slumped to the ground, groaning piteously. The leader turned around and spoke to his co-conspirators. “You too must help in this search. The vial is vital to our cause. Devote all of your resources to this. If you suspect a Light One of holding the vial, take it from them.†He stared them all down, and then waved a hand at them. “Dismissed!â€
He turned towards the hole he’d made and saw the messenger still lying on the ground. His eyes glowed and he yelled “WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? MOVE!†The messenger let out a little squeak and scurried down the stairs.
