Have to be fast while doing it, what with the 2 minute life expectancy.
"WHO DROPPED THE FLAG?"
"Sorry, Ghoul was about to die, wanted to get back a little life before he went."
Also, I wonder if ghoul's will have to stay within a certain range of the deathknight like elemental totems and other pets do? If not, I see epic adventures trying to see just how far away two people can get in 2 minutes when one is limited to movement on foot.

I really, really think that paladins are going to the the Death Knight killers in PVP. We cleanse disease, we have the most undead-managing skills, we don't have HOTs (unless your a draenei) so they can't turn our heals into death, and if they try it on us we can bubble out of it... which makes me excited, since everyone will be a Death Knight my paladin will finally be feared.
Well, Death Knights will be classified as humanoid, not undead.
Yes, as mentioned, Death Knights will have the ability to raise ghouls or summon skellies.
So I'm really curious to see how death knight itemization goes. So far, it seems to me that all the special abilities of the death knight would appear to be spell damage based. Will dps dk's have to load out on spell damage plate to put out their dps? And what about the tanks? Paladin tanking loot, which would be the most likely candidate, is often loaded down with int and block related shit, neither of which a dk needs. And going beyond that, they were described as a parry-centric tank. But parry is the worst ilvl value of all the avoidance stats.
Do you think they'll base the dk abilities off of ap (or have a talent/innate ability similar to mental quickness where x% ap counts as spelldamage as well)? Do you think they will bring parry down to dodge as far as ilvl budget goes? Will we be seeing dk specific tanking gear that will get sharded again and again similar to prot paladin specific crap? Any other rampant speculation and theories?
They've said DKs will share Warrior loot IIRC. I also recall them reworking ret pallies to do the same in Wrath. Overall they seem to be working towards less class specific stuff in Wrath and having more thing that are useful to a bunch of classes.

...
Do they remember why they put in separate loot sets for separate specs in TBC?
At least when you get a drop it's probably going to be an upgrade for someone, rather than "oh great, another fucking void crystal".
The top guild on my server voids all their Archie loot every week yet they won't bother selling a PUG spot and giving someone else that Cat's Edge or what ever else drops off that fucker. I mean, what's the point in doing it if you're going to get one fucking void out of it, at least someone will benefit from it if they just sold out the spot.
(I know this had nothing to do with what we're talking about, but I hate how greedy and stupid some people are)
Has there been any word on upgraded and different forms of undead? Will DKs always have the same Ghouls and Skeletons, or will we see Prot* specced Death Knights tanking with the aid of an Abomination? Banshees? Skeletal Mages? Maybe a Frost Wyrm as a class mount?
One of our rogues died once distracting one of the hyjal bosses and then couldn't receive loot. It may have been a range issue but I'd imagine whatever the cause it wouldn't work.

I like the idea of a pet tanking class. Would be pretty cool if DKs had to tank multiple adds with the help of a pet. E.g. a Death Knight can only tank 2 or so mobs by himself by target switching, while his pet can hold aggro on another. "All healing received by the Death Knight is split between himself and his Abomination pet".

Does anybody have any guesses as to what the next hero class might be after the death knight? I ask because the DK is pretty much the last hybrid combination I can think of, being basically a melee warlock.

Three options in my opinion. Split tokens into two groups of 5 (yeah right), 1 group of 10 (That'll never happen), or 5 groups of 2 (sadly this will probably be the case).

There was an computer magazine interview with Jeff Kaplan (tigole) that mentioned archdruid next. (Zitron is the name of the guy doing the interview btw).
" What's more, with any luck, we'll see more Hero classes some time after release, the hot Zitron tip being some kind of Archdruid quest directly connected to Malfurion Stormrage and the much-anticipated Emerald Dream."
Looking at the source this isn't a quote from Kaplan but the magazine writing that.
When I first read this quote on mmo-champion I thought it was talking about the next expansion, but if this is more than a developer brainstorm it could take the form of patched in content like new Slithius or the island of QQ.
I am kind of hoping the emerald dream, if/when it ever comes out, ends up as a big quest zone and not just an instanec. It'd be a chance for lots of strange object & mob models, dream logic, and lore content.
What the hell would an arch-druid be? Druids are already a god tier class. Can't see anyway they could be moreso.

A stealth caster, maybe? That would be popular. Shadowstalkers perhaps, or demon-hunters.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
If you look at War3 you'll notice that the Arch-Druid was actually a gimpier version of the normal druid: http://www.battle.net/war3/nightelf/units/keepergrove.shtml
Seeing as he has no shapeshifting (Yes that's a Keeper of the Grove, but Furion was the same hero).
If the Emerald Dream was made into an expansion, I think we can all agree that Demon Hunters and Wardens would be way cooler to have then all of this Arch stuff. How would that even work?

It would also be amusing if they could be flag carriers in WSG....it would finally be a use for track undead.

Oh, bloody fantastic. That's just what we need. Really.

But I agree sharding gear sucks.
Also, do you have any idea what the going rate for buying T6 level gear is? It's not pretty, last I heard.
Pluto was a planet and I'll never forget
*Or whatever
Hell, I'd almost be inclined to ask them to go kill themselves nearby (so they could get loot) and just 24 man it.
Probably easy enough to find out in a five man.
Still, have them swing on the boss a few times, then get murdered.
still not worth the effort, better to shard the loot

And less gear dropping that nobody wants because it applies to an underused alt-spec :<
Warlocks, Priest, Paladin
Rogues, Hunter, Mage
To prevent too many multi-spec classes from needing the pieces.
Ya know?
Pre 70, hunters are a pet tanking class.

I think LOTRO does already. Wouldn't surprise me if it works out that way in the expansion.

I'd want to see a brewmaster hero class.
