it may be a great fucking game, but that was a lousy fucking trailer
The point of that trailer was to appease the fans that have been calling for a sequel for years. The game has some pretty diehard fans. This is the first glimpse of this game, after all.
I'm sure in a little while they'll release something more traditional.

just saying
that's a video that does absolutely nothing for someone not familiar with the original game
it just makes me think "oh jesus christ, if that's a game it looks boring as hell"

Here is how it goes down.
BG+E2 has been known to be in production to the press for ages. Lots of outlets have actually been sitting on information until today.
Today is the Ubisoft special Ubidays event.
Today is also the day they officially publicly announced BG+E2.
Therefore, this is not a trailer, or a teaser. It is an announcement.
The content is of much less worth than the fact that it exists at all.
It is designed for two reasons : to show off the visual style of the game (confirmed running in the game engine, not pre-rendered CG at all which is incredible)
And to basically say 'hey, BG+E2, its real'
It is the first of a series of trailers to be released over the year, I wouldnt worry about it being dull or of little provenance - which it is.
Its just essentially a fancy press release.

BG&E is, to date, the only game I've ever played where I did absolutely everything there was to do in the game just because I didnt want it to end. And then, when I had everything, I kept running around, doing nothing, feeling sad.
yeah, a big part of its appeal is that it's one of those really good games that was largely ignored
and it did a lot of things differently, particularly in terms of story and character design
it also had that same Okami appeal in that it was basically a zelda game but it wasn't THE SAME FUCKING STORY ALL OVER AGAIN
Yeah this.
I had a few problems with it, the combat when you had to use it wasn't really as robust as it should be and the sneaking missions for some reason would ignore you half the time and the other half spot you when they were facing the other way.
The story was really nice though and the art style was top notch.

And if they are, the games seems to be a letdown.
Of course, exceptions exceptions.

On the black screen
you know
it's not for you
it really is just for the fans so they can feel special. nothing wrong with that.

are you serious
I had never heard of fallout before, but I was one hundred per cent guaranteed to buy Fallout 3 as soon as I saw that trailer
it was incredible
I don't get how this trailer figures into ominous ending of the first game, though.
Secret Satan
I think thats the foreboding.
