I. Coming Soon...
Shamelessly copied and fluffed up from ScoreHero's forum, so credit to them for doing the sleuthing. Here is a comprehensive list of what we can expect to come and some of the rumors floating around:

The Best of The Who Rock Band Edition - Confirmed by the band for July 15th for $19.99 or 1600 MS Points.
“Amazing Journey”
“Baba O'Riley”
“Behind Blue Eyes”
“Eminence Front”
“Going Mobile”
“Leaving Here”
“My Generation” (LIVE)
“Real Good Looking Boy”
“Sea & Sand”
“Summertime Blues” (LIVE)
“Who Are You”
“Young Man Blues” (LIVE)

OXM March Leaked List
Supposed to be released in March but we haven't seen or heard about any future release regarding these tracks:
"Shadow World" by The Haunted
"Shooting Star" by Bad Company
"Wrathchild" by Iron Maiden
"Supernaut" by Black Sabbath
"Fuel" by Metallica
There might also be another Metallica pack with a new single.

More from Grateful Dead
"Touch of Grey"
"Alabama Getaway" (this showed up in the cracked DLC list)
"Uncle John's Band"
...perhaps more?

Here is the rest of that cracked DLC list that we haven't seen any news about. Only the song titles were shown so the bands listed aren't confirmed. We also don't know whether these are covers or not.
(Note: Pinball Wizard is showing up as a Rock Band 2 track according to a "leaked' screencap.)
"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones
"Brown Sugar" by the Rolling Stones
"Pinball Wizard" by the Who
"Misery Business" by Paramore
"Received Your Letter" by Schnitzer (it was supposedly confirmed on his MySpace page)
"L'Aventurier" by Indochine
Nevermind by Nirvana (most songs from the album showed up in the list)

Crooked X confirmed that they were going to have a 6 song pack. They also mentioned Rock Band 2 on their MySpace that was quickly removed.

B-52's are supposed to have another track for download at some point according to a blog entry of theirs.

MC Chris mentioned in his forum that he has DLC readied for August. The post has since been removed.

Testament are supposed to release "Electric Crown" and "Souls of Black" and there was mention of Rock Band 2 again.

Bad Religion are to have "Sorrow" released for Rock Band 2, according to them.

Devo mentioned that they are to have a 3 song pack up for download at some point as they re-recorded some sections with one song confirmed (by them) to be "Through Being Cool."

Turbonegro had a press release regarding their latest album in which they mentioned that they would show up in Rock Band 2.

After much sleuthing, the internet has yielded an MTV2 commercial for the latest MTV2 pack that included a quick scroll down the selectable tracklist in which three songs that have yet to be announced showed up. They are:
"Aesthetics of Hate" by Machine Head
"Burn" by Nine Inch Nails
"Breed" by Nirvana

According to a secondary source, people at a Jimmy Buffet concert mentioned that they played Rock Band on stage and one song they played was "USS Zydecoldsmobile" by Jimmy Buffet. Details or official word on this has yet to be seen. Take this one with MOUNDS of salt.

Sublime's PR department has been responding to e-mails regarding Rock Band with:
"Keep your eyes out for Rock Band 2 this fall...you just might get a surprise!"

Def Leppard are supposedly working on putting something up for Rock Band 2. However, questions directed to the band have been shot down or unanswered.

Rush is rumored to be included in more DLC, possibly as a pack or album. The speculation started regarding a HMX post that included the following:
"It's even looking quite likely that we'll soon be presenting an exclusive chat with a very popular Canadian band who have a strong RB connection (and are not the New Pornographers)."

The Offspring have announced that more songs other than "Hammerhead" will be appearing in Rock Band. The six songs they mentioned on their website that would appear in Rock Band soon were:
"Come Out And Play [Keep ‘Em Separated]"
"Self Esteem"
"Gone Away"
"All I Want"
"Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)"
"The Kids Aren‘t Alright"

II. Rock Band Clan Tags
The Gamertag for the PA Rock Band Group is PA Rock Band.
The Gamertag for the Rock Band DLC Group is RockBand allDLC.
(NOTE: I think Unbreakable Vow was maintaining one of them, I am not in control of the invites for either.)

Once you're a friend, go to the Gamertag's profile, go to Personal Profile, and View Friends. You now know who is online and currently owns Rock Band, and will be able to send invites. People that are friends with RockBand allDLC now have a portal to Rock Banders that will probably share a good amount of DLC with them. Enjoy the greatest music game ever made, with your friends from Penny Arcade!

Note: There's 58 songs in the retail game (45 main setlist and 13 bonus), so if you subtract 58 from your total songs as listed in Solo World Tour, you'll have the amount of DLC you've purchased.

I figure they added some guitar/drum solos or something like that.

I honestly don't know much about Disturbed aside from the couple of singles I hear on the radio now and then. Stupify and uhm...Land of Confusion are the two I remember very well. I kind of associated them with darker-almost-emo rock when I first saw them.

Any expert guitar players have any advice on how to get better at "snaking"? (Like at the end of GG&HT, Ride the Lightning solo)

I understand practice is, well, the best way to get better. But I feel like there must be something I'm missing about HOPOs in RB.

Eh, they're a bit hard to classify with their driving, more melodic guitar lines than most the metal being putting out. Also the singer is bizarre that he combines guttural sounds in his singing.

Quick question for your Rock Band vets. Have the problems with the instruments (ie. strum bar breaking, drums not registering hits) been corrected for the most part in newer releases? I'm thinking I maaaay pick up the Wii version once it drops, and it would be nice to not have to RMA my instruments all the time.

Edit: By newer releases, I mean the instruments they've been sending out since launch. I don't expect you folks to see into the future. :P

No, no, no you're doing it wrong - when you think about it "Boo-urns" is actually the opposite of "boo."

So which is it? Boo, or boo-urns? :P

They've eliminated the major quality issues from launch for the guitar strummer, yeah. Drum hits registering is pretty decent as well, but your drum pedal will almost certainly break in half. I went through 5 pedals before I bought a metal one and they haven't changed the design since then.

They take forever, but they go through no problem. Between myself and all of my friends who own it we've RMA'd about 30 items so I'm speaking from experience, hehe.

I still think I'm one of the few people who has RMA'd their mic.

They've eliminated the major quality issues from launch for the guitar strummer, yeah. Drum hits registering is pretty decent as well, but your drum pedal will almost certainly break in half. I went through 5 pedals before I bought a metal one and they haven't changed the design since then.
Heh, I haven't broken a pedal yet, and I got the game at launch. I guess it all depends how you play.

My friend, who has gone through like 10 pedals or something ridiculous brought his new one over to my house once (I made him in order to play) and it looked a little different than mine. The spring was more coiled, and the plastic was slightly thicker in places. At any rate, he broke it the next day, but at least they're trying.

I'll be grabbing the Disturbed tracks. They are an acquired taste for sure, but I know the guitar and drum parts should be quite fun for me.

Are most of the people breaking pedals playing with shoes on? And have any of them played a real kit (not that I think it matters much)? I still have my launch pedal as well and there's not a crack to be seen anywhere on it. But I've been using it barefoot or with socks, so maybe I've just been unintentionally gentler on it?

Holy jesus, 30 items?! Wow. If I get this, I'm googling pedal mods right quick! It's a shame my Les Paul won't work with it, cause that guitar seems like it has no chance of breaking. But damn that strat looks sexy.

Oh! One more question while I'm buggin you dudes. I just looked at the 20 songs on the expansion disc. Most of them I am unfamiliar with. Have you guys played those songs, and if so, are those 20 fun enough to drop 30 bucks on em?

You could always search Youtube for the songs, some people have even taken it upon themselves to buy each and every DLC item and upload a video for it.

I broke mine once, and I've had the game since launch, I play with socks or barefoot. I'm not the only one who has played on it - it's possible when it broke it was from someone else being too rough with it weakening it. It broke on me during Limelight, which seems appropriate.

I think people who break their pedals frequently are probably doing it wrong, but they can break even if you're pretty gentle with them.

P.S. - Has Moss been posting around here lately? We miss 'im. :|

Yeah, I'm still around here, but much quieter lately. I'm not on the computer/forums as much as I used to be... my PS2/360/everything console related is sitting in storage (no place to use it)... so I haven't played any RB (or any other console game) since leaving Boston end of March.

So, yeah... I'm just a lame-O now... I still like reading what you guys write, to see how much you <verb> Harmonix and the game.

Still, if anyone wants to do a PBeM of Civ4... :winky:

I can definitely see the pedal snapping quite easily if the player is exclusively playing heel-up, which is how I imagine most non-drummers would play.

My pedal doesn't seem to be in danger of snapping, but something's weird with the spring.

PBeM Civ 4? I might be down for that.

Yeah, I'm gonna pass on all these songs.

A dollar song I don't want to play is still a song I don't want to play.
