The PC's death brought a sudden hush to the dungeon as if a great weight had been lifted from its shoulders. One Orc started cheering. Then another joined in. Soon, the Orcs remaining in dungeon level 2 were all stamping their feet and howling at the dead PC; the human player in charge of it was surely blushing with shame at his defeat at the hands of a couple of Orcs.
Eventually, the Orcs quieted down, and got back to work, which would surely be harder with even more treasure to guard. Their wise Orc Shaman, the only NPC with enough experience to pick up items, passed out thorgot's belongings. A few weeks passed without a major event, though the number of Orcs in the group swelled as word spread of the group's success.
Suddenly, in the middle of the night, an Orc sounded the alarm. The Shaman was found in his tent with an Orcish cutlass in his gut. The novice Shaman was summoned to the altar. He cast his spells to determine the source of the trouble, though all knew it was an inside job because the two doors were still locked. A wisp of smoky vapor wafted to the ceiling, where it began to swirl and form shapes. These shapes became people. Some adventurers standing on dungeon level 1. As the translucent figures began to drink their potions and turn into Orcs, the spell abruptly ended and the vapors dissipated.
All eyes fell from the ceiling to the novice Shaman, who had been neatly gutted with his own sword. The silence was broken and the angry babble of Orcish voices soon swelled into a roar.
