You know what's going to be better than MK vs DC?

    Ultimate Alliance 2.

It takes place during the Civil War.

And you can make your own heroes, and choose your side.

    Is that confirmed?

I heard that in the context of a rumor.

    No, it's confirmed.

Well, the Civil War part, not the create your own heroes.

Oh man, I hope I have a PS3 or 360 by then, because that sounds like an amazing concept for a Marvel game.

That will be awesome, I love Ultimate Alliance. My only wish is that they actually manage to mix up the gameplay a bit, perhaps even make it a bit shorter.

I mean, it was great, but it seemed to go on for EVER basically doing exactly the same thing over and over and over.

As previously mentioned, Punisher MAX: Little Black Book was an excellent read. This was probably my favorite page from the whole thing.

I've always wondered why more comic book games don't just follow a well known story. Civil War is a great idea. Usually, particularly in Batman/Spider-Man games, we just get almost generic stories by the developers that involve a whole rogues gallery for unconvincing reasons so they could have a lot of bosses.

Ultimate Spider-Man handled the extra rogues pretty well in the story. The obligatory Shocker fight, for instance.

I did enjoy that game, but probably because it was tied into the comic by the actual creative team.

Even the Justice League game, which was written by Dwayne McDuffie, seemed to be haphazardly thrown together for a plot. I wondered if he wrote the actual story, or followed the outline given to them. Some of the dialogue was fine, but it pulled in everyone from The Key to Brainiac to Queen Bee to Darkseid.

While that sounds cool, I'm kind of tired of the Ultimate Alliance/X-Men/Fantastic Four style gameplay. I've played through four games that played like that, I'd really like something different, like the Punisher game or Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Imagine a Civil War game that played like Freedom Fighters.

Whatever happened to that new Marvel fighting game that was announced a while back? The one where people get hit then go flying through the air smashing into stuff? That looked pretty interesting, but I haven't really heard anything about it lately.

Pretty sure it got the can, at least in it's current state, when EA Chicago was closed down I'm afraid. It looked promising!

Man, how much of a fan-gasm would people have if they just bit the bullet and produced a Marvel Vs DC game?

I guess Rise of the Imperfects was pretty shit.

I caught only bits of previews of the game and the tie-in comics. It didn't seem like much. Guy gets electrocuted and gets electricity powers. Guy gets stabbed and gets stabbing powers. Guy gets shit on by bird and gets bird shitting powers.

Awesome. Firefox is spell checking for me.

Anyway, this can only mean good things for future (fighting) games.

It fits with the theme, though. Electrocuted guy gets electricity powers. Girl whose parents died gets parent-killing powers. It works in real life too. Guy is gets AIDS and now has the power to give other people AIDS.

Well yeah I know but wasn't the shitty Electro Rip-off a hero? Like he was wrongly put to death or some shit and now he's like a hero?

Besides, I'm not even gonna pretend ANY of them had a backstory that wasn't shit.

I never read it, but this review from 4thletter.net made the mini-series tie-in sound pretty good at least. It was written by Greg Pak. Had some bitchin' Maleev-like art too.
