V for Vendetta wasn't a god awful movie, I don't think. I read the book before watching the movie, and I could already tell from the trailer that they changed a lot of pretty vital stuff. So as I walked in the theater to see the movie, I put all prior knowledge of the book aside and enjoyed the movie as just that, and it did not disappoint.
Please tell me that by "book," you mean THIS, and not THIS.
Because if you mean the latter, you are a fantastic dipshit.
why on earth would anyone mean the novelization
That's just...man...I guess dumb. I guess that is what it is.
V For Vendetta was pretty overrated and too long, but I think it's well acted and very entertaining
Natalie Portman needed to decide what kind of English accent she was going for before she started speaking, not mix and match with wild abandon. That shit was nerve wracking.

this thread made we borrow The Movies from a friend.
This being Fox I'm sure there'll be a limited super collector's edition in a few months, but, hey, thank god for gift cards
Man, I loved that movie. I think that Paul Dano deserves a best supporting actor nomination for Dwayne. In fact, the entire cast was pretty much pitch-perfect, even the usually-grating Toni Collette.
I was highly entertained by both movies, but if thinking it's a bit ridiculous to call them "good" makes me a faggot, then please sign me up for the freaky buttsex.
you are going to have to explain why entertaining is bad first

Oh, that's not what I'm saying at all. They are not mutually exclusive. But neither are they mutually inclusive. At least not in my personal cinematic lexicon.
Shoe would have preferred if The Departed ended when Leonardo DiCaprio turned off his targetting computer and blew up the Death Star using the force as his guide.

no what I would have preferred was [spoiler:819423fd89]something better than, oh shit, time for the end of the movie, let's kill everyone![/spoiler:819423fd89]

when I go to movies like The Departed and am bored for 3 hours + bullshit ending, I do not consider that "good"

It was delightful, it's based on a novella by Steve Martin, starring him, Claire Daines, and Jason Shwartzman.
It's good stuff.
