If you like LANs, do BYOC. First Years shouldn't be discouraged from getting the FULL PAX experience just because there's so much to do. Even without doing BYOC you won't have time to see everything. It's a good place to chill out so you don't get overwhelmed by the rest of the convention.

the only real downside i can think of right now is that unless you have someone holding your spot in line, you can't get to the front of the line on day 1, because you have to wait until byoc opens, set up, then go get in line. unless you set up late, of course. but again, that's not much of a downside, so hurry up and open byoc registration!

BYOC has its seperate line. this year YOU GUYS WILL BE LET IN AT LEAST AN HOUR EARLY TO SETUP YOUR STUFF. Or else heads will roll *glares at dave*. Gotta stay in byoc though until pax opening, youd get a head start on expo over the general pax line.

Also anything that the main line gets (concert wristbands, swag, etc) ill have availabe for the BYOC line.

or... you could just show up later I suppose if you dont want to miss out on the main pax line craziness.

Being that I work for an IT company, they actually have a clause in the sick day policies claiming that nobody should be taking such days when there's an "event" in town (which leads me to suspect they've suffered mass exodus during previous PAXes).

Suffice to say, I'm going to have to hoarse up my voice on the phone real good-like.

Buddy, I'm flying in on THURSDAY to make sure I can get set up at BYOC and have a chance to get a good seat for the keynote. That's a mistake I made last year, I missed the keynote, and I won't make that mistake this year.

Which means it'll be 360-on-a-company-projector day.

Yea, they'll be through Brown Paper tickets. There should also be an email notification, and I'm sure it'll be announced here as well. You'll need to log in from the account you used to buy your original pax pass, and you should be able to add byoc to that order.

That is my current understanding, anyway.
