    Before the series started Ellis mentioned on BAD SIGNAL that whether or not Black Summer gets a trade depended very much on how well it sells and it's really not a sure thing.

    There's been quite a buzz about it so far though, so I doubt that it won't happen now, but...y'know.

    Also Avatar takes fucking ages to get trades out.

    So, I did indeed go back and pick up all of Black Summer that has come out so far (although my shop didn't have #6 - did that actually get released?), and it is awesome. :^: :^:

    Issue #5 has this ad for Anna Mercury in the back, also by Ellis - is this worth picking up? Sounds like it might be fun.

    Yeah, Black Summer is a really great book. 6 came out about a month and a half ago, I think.
    The delays have really hurt its impact and broken the momentum. The worst part about the delays is that they have nothing to do with creative team, according to Ellis and Avatar Press. Something to do with the printers in both cases (6 and 7).

    I have continued to pester Avatar via their website's email form every other week about the next issue of Black Summer (something I have been doing for almost six months now, with the repeated delays), and was told:

    It's shipped from us, just a matter of the distributor getting it into stores. The 4th may have messed up the dates some. Regardless, very soon! Thanks for your support of Avatar.
