JSA and Action Comics are also so good. I'm sorry for saying mean things about you before, Geoff Johns.
You're actually making Supergirl interesting
Action Comics was really awesome
I dont know if I'd go that far with Supergirl though.
Well, he and James Robinson have said they're working on making Supergirl into an important character, so I imagine some of these threads will be picked up in her series when Sterling Gates takes over her book
All Hail Megatron #1 came out today, too, and was awesome. Decepticons show up and start killing humans on mass and the last page has:
Optimus Prime lying on a table back on Cybertron with his chest gutted and the remaining Autobots taking the news of Megatrons invasion of Earth pretty hard.
Hey now, lets not treat it like this is Bendis' first rodeo. We knew what we were getting when he signed on for it. Personally, I think it's well-paced, and Yu (and the inker I can never remember) are fucking rocking the house on the art chores.
As amazing as Secret Invasion (and I'm also a fan of Final Crisis) has been, I'm beginning to get pissed that super-events aren't at least double-sized for each issue.
Theres no reason a Bendis and Yu book, of which Yu left NA early to pencil said event, couldn't ship twice a month or be double sized and half as many issues.

No, I'm agreeing with you, Bale. Byrne could probably do it, but that's a crapshoot at this point. Bagley could probably do it, but why bother? Marvel would be insane to shorten SI from 8 issues to 4 double sized issues - that's just throwing money away.
Final Crisis: Requiem was the best book this week. And by best, I mean saddest. For a comic book, I thought it was unflinching in its portrayal of death. Seeing Jonn struggling in his death throes while he was put down like an animal, and then seeing him lying on that slab with those dead, vacant eyes was unsettling, disturbing, and sad: the way death really is. You hardly ever see comic book deaths portrayed with such...weight.
I'm glad Tomasi wrote it and that he put a great deal of stock into Ostrander's run (which he had edited). It was really cool to read it and be like "I remember when he fought that robot! I remember the Cabal! I remember the Martian renegades!"
And then, yeah, I got all sad again.

Jordyn, I feel your pain at losing one of your favorite characters ever. I lost mine last year, Steve Rogers, and I'm about to lose another one, Bruce Wayne.
One can hope, for the sake of Martian fans everywhere, that if they decide to keep him dead, that they come up with a completely awesome replacement, like Captain Bucky. Or if they decide to bring back J'onnz, that they do it in a manner similar to Green Lantern Rebirth, and that when he comes back, he comes back on track for awesome.

He is making Brainiac amazing for sure though.
And the scene between Damage and Cyclone in JSA was really cute

and Laura Martin's coloring is great too
the lead time needed for something like that would have been huge
even someone as fast as Yu
I'm guessing the reason is....
edit: especially in a book like SI where there's so many large crowds and complicated sequences to draw
his little run on Action Comics with Simone a couple years ago was a disaster, just awful
Next summer he will be back wearing a nice new shiny black ring!
I cannot believe how much I like this idea, despite it being a bit to easily turned into "good guy zombie fights for his humanity...or Martianity"

And maybe he'll carry a gun.
He'll probably be a lesbian.

It's good....in a Warren Ellis kind of way. Not his best work, but not bad for an online weekly read.
