That is the one that was originally released as FF III on the SNES, right?
FFII US. FFIII US was FFVI JP.

Get your Roman numerals right, Gawd...

EDIT: Yeah jacob, give 'im hell!
Okay, then FF IV was pretty good, and FF VI fucking fantastic.

I'm going to follow the news with interest the next couple of weeks.

I wonder how the FFXIII is going to affect console sales.

The combat style of FF never appealed to me I suppose

Which i guess is why i've never played them

That's the best part of XII... the Gambit system, while limited at first grows to be the best thing ever. I was super skeptical about the whole thing, but it really REALLY takes the tedium out of Final Fantasy games.

If they go back to turn based, random battles for XIII, i'm not sure I'll be able to play it.

I don't know. Everyone i know who doesn't have a PS3 has been saying that FFXIII was a killer ap for them. Not anymore, it seems.

What i mean to say is that I don't think it will drive XBox sales, but i don't see it driving PS3 Sales like it would have a s an exclusive.

    That's why I like Avatars.

There's a guy in CF using the same character as El Skid, and I always forget it's not El Skid posting in there, and I get confused. It's the same character in a different pose, but still too close for the corner of my eye.

The Gambit system reduced my gameplay to moving around and clicking "Attack" to just running around; even more so when you're farming for loot/exp.

So, I'm thinking of creating PayPal account, but I always hear a bunch of stories of how people get cheated or screwed over through it one way or another. If I just use it every so often to make an EBay purchase or whatever, should I be okay, or will I have to worry about money just disappearing from my account?

I didn't have to grind at all when i played thru, but yeah, it definitely would do that.

And as far as the "just running around", i don't know, i was still pretty active in choosing commands for various people. It's not like the gambit system can handle EVERYTHING you want to do. There's no nested conditionals or anything like that. It just removed as much tedium as possible.

And boss fights were still like 99% manual control. I just loved how you could set someone to automatically remove status elements and shit, and take away the tedium of stuff like that.

I won't ever have the opportunity to try the system, all I know is that in FF7 I was grinding for X-Potions while reading a book on a regular basis, and that strikes me as -wrong-.

What the hell do you need X-Potions for?

Before FFTA2, I don't think my X-Potion use reached double digits for the entire Final Fantasy line.

    That was so freaking annoying.

Though once you finally got all of it you just wasted everything.

    --

Frosteey: I never said I ended up using them. Around end game I usually have my inventory maxed out. This was especially important for FF7 considering boss fights could cause my computer to crash. Also: Goddamn Sephiroth and his hour-long summon animation.
