That damned movie needs to come out already so y'all can go back to avatars I recognize. :P
I still don't recognize Jeffe.
I've been browsing without avatars/sigs since I started posting from work. Your reliance on tiny pictures has made you weak.
Mostly just makes it quicker, because I don't have to actually read the name. I can keep my eyes focused on the text and just catch the "who it was" out of the corner of my eye.
The combat style of FF never appealed to me I suppose
Which i guess is why i've never played them
That's the best part of XII... the Gambit system, while limited at first grows to be the best thing ever. I was super skeptical about the whole thing, but it really REALLY takes the tedium out of Final Fantasy games.
If they go back to turn based, random battles for XIII, i'm not sure I'll be able to play it.

That's why I like Avatars.
There's a guy in CF using the same character as El Skid, and I always forget it's not El Skid posting in there, and I get confused. It's the same character in a different pose, but still too close for the corner of my eye.

The Gambit system reduced my gameplay to moving around and clicking "Attack" to just running around; even more so when you're farming for loot/exp.
Zimmydoom, Zimmydoom
Flew away in a balloon
Had sex with polar bears
While sitting in a reclining chair
Now there are Zim-Bear hybrids
Running around and clawing eyelids
Watch out, a Zim-Bear is about to have sex with yooooooou!
So, I'm thinking of creating PayPal account, but I always hear a bunch of stories of how people get cheated or screwed over through it one way or another. If I just use it every so often to make an EBay purchase or whatever, should I be okay, or will I have to worry about money just disappearing from my account?
I think the Gambit system just highlights how absurd grinding is.
I didn't have to grind at all when i played thru, but yeah, it definitely would do that.
And as far as the "just running around", i don't know, i was still pretty active in choosing commands for various people. It's not like the gambit system can handle EVERYTHING you want to do. There's no nested conditionals or anything like that. It just removed as much tedium as possible.
And boss fights were still like 99% manual control. I just loved how you could set someone to automatically remove status elements and shit, and take away the tedium of stuff like that.

I just have my PayPal account linked to my credit card
I figure that's safer
Cuz credit cards are safer

I won't ever have the opportunity to try the system, all I know is that in FF7 I was grinding for X-Potions while reading a book on a regular basis, and that strikes me as -wrong-.
the Junction system in 8 did the same thing. "Oh I won't actually kill these bad guys I'll sit here and draw magic out of them for an hour instead!"
That was so freaking annoying.
Though once you finally got all of it you just wasted everything.

Frosteey: I never said I ended up using them. Around end game I usually have my inventory maxed out. This was especially important for FF7 considering boss fights could cause my computer to crash. Also: Goddamn Sephiroth and his hour-long summon animation.

I wonder how the FFXIII is going to affect console sales.

Probably won't.
I don't know. Everyone i know who doesn't have a PS3 has been saying that FFXIII was a killer ap for them. Not anymore, it seems.
What i mean to say is that I don't think it will drive XBox sales, but i don't see it driving PS3 Sales like it would have a s an exclusive.
Halo IV?

That, and I'm starting to learn who's who in the Jokerified world.
Squee!
I don't get it.

Bungie has a countdown, I love Bungie, therefore I squee.

But that might be a bullshit assumption

Why does Ms hate us so much?
pretty sure that's the first real windbit reference that i've made. gonna make them all the time now though.
Couldn't be, though.
Did you make one? I thought it was zimmy
oh and luckily you being a miser never gets old!
Before FFTA2, I don't think my X-Potion use reached double digits for the entire Final Fantasy line.
That was so freaking annoying.

That was pretty much my thought process as well.
is miser tbe right word here?
browsing on my phone isn't too painful when i'm using wifi.
Mass Effect might become tolerable!
I am unsure of the context here but, a miser is someone who is very stingy with their money.
a miser is a stingy person, that's right
What?
niggardly. If that word were a person it would be an innocent guy with the name of Osama Bin Terrorist whose birthday is on 9/11
