You guys are strawmanning. Look at my conclusions in isolation from the context if you like.
I am merely supporting my statements with anecdotal evidence from the position of a class specialist, and forgive me if that's too grand a word but I want to sleep.
Pretentious, why don't you sit back before getting things all personal and implying I suck, or something. I haven't the energy.
But it's flawed because there's no way you can justify there being any other outcome in pyro vs sniper 1 on 1 than the pyro winning (if he's in range)
Correct! I can't! Not trying to! See above.
What "statements" are you supporting? That's he's too fast, does too much damage? If so the supporting evidence doesn't stand up
I don't see how being a 'class specialist' makes a difference. You put a sniper and a pyro in a one on one situation like that, the sniper is going to die. I don't see what you're getting at other than you wanting the pyro to be dead if he's within 5 second range...which means either headshots do 225+ dmg or an smg does more damage.
I've read your post forwards and backwards and that's really all I'm seeing
I usually play Medic and I have to agree with Flippy's assessment of the Pyro in many situations. Even when I seem well out of range the flames ignite me. And, once again, it wouldn't be so bad if I could put myself out once they die. I know it isn't realistic (which is sometimes a problem in this game for certain players) but maybe backburner could work like the Demo's stickies. Flames die when he dies.
edit: However, I think a lot of the issue stems from a saturation of Pyro's since the updates. As soon as the next one comes out or after everyone has their moment playing with the new toys, I think things will die down to something close to the previous equilibrium.
I'll agree the +50 health boost for an already useful weapon is rather over the top. Should be halved to 25 to keep them out of heavy health range, but to throw out the entire class on some perception that they're overpowered because a sniper can't kill them when they're in roasting range is absurd
However, that new calzone level is delicious. Do we agree that despite not knowing where shit is it is a fun map? All scouts would make it truly tangy.
Glad to hear, and yeah, it's definitely a level you're going to want to look over once or twice. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play it with a full server tomorrow sometime. (hint hint)

I hear ya. One can only suck so much juicy fun out of a game. Many of us are in the hundreds of hours nowadays. I think that's a pretty good bang for our buck!
But I'm not declaring my shelving just yet. There's some drunk gaming left in me.
Anyone who is getting tired of this game is playing too often or not playing different classes enough. I've been playing since pre-order beta and while I do get burned out sometimes I never think of shelving the game. Just take a week off or so and try a new class.
If you're not having fun with TF2 you're dead inside.

Or if you are like me and you want to keep playing your favorite class despite everyone seemingly killing you repeatedly it is a good idea to step back sometimes and re evaluate your strategy. Sometimes I forgot I have to be right next to the magets before I start shooting them, this results in entire matches of me playing mid range Scout, also known as "Eric, why don't you play Medic for a little while?"

This isn't true. I've barely played in the last month and the game kinda sucks. The only reason I play anymore is to yell at people who can't turn around and hit me in the face.

This is because you're dead inside. I'm sorry but your inner child is dead and you have no further hope of happiness in your life.

I've been playing more as a spy opposed to scout, trying to play half serious /half stupid. I mean just like scout, you die so much and spend so much time watching other people, the game becomes almost a comedy.
So I'm getting more decent as a scout and less horrible as a horrible spy that only disguises as a scout.
Also Eric's got to remember, as a scout you gotta rub on people more and the only way to die is to taunt to death.
Also fuck sniping, I can't even headshot one person anymore.
hey tyrannus some people might ask you about being a dick on the server tonight

It's not that I don't enjoy the game anymore...it's that it takes so long that I get too addicted when I do play so I try to not let myself play else the whole day will pass and I wont have done anything.
I basically only play when the urge gets too much. As a result, I often get distracted by other things and forget about it for a while.
Also Godhand. I started playing Godhand again. Always the death of other games for me for a few weeks/the rest of my life.
Took me a week to put disgaea 2 in the ps2 because every time I went to touch it I'd get hit with an urge to play Godhand some more. Basically the reason I actually have a gaming backlog now is because of that game.
And when I wake up in the morning and have a day free (it's the holiday in between semesters) all I want to do is play some Godhand while I'm alert and have a better chance at the damn thing.
So basically I don't play tuftoo until I get hit with a craving and then I tear myself away from it after only a few games so I don't get too addicted again. I wish I had this level of self control for Godhand.

(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
TF2 has become the game that I play when I'm bored.
Unfortunately (or not?) for TF2, I just bought a 360.

Neither the whole of truth nor the whole of good is revealed to any single observer, although each observer gains a partial superiority of insight from the peculiar position in which he stands. It is enough to ask of each of us that he should be faithful to his own opportunities and make the most of his own blessings, without presuming to regulate the rest of the vast field.
Technical glitches and poor performance...I've only seen more of the poor performance, nothing more than that on this end.
Uh, also, guys, realize that the TF2 community is getting larger and larger, and these periodic releases are drawing a bunch of new players in. With new players, comes more noobs.
I honestly think it's been so long that these noobs have finally starting learning how to play and are getting to a skill level about the same as yours, which is why you're doing bad.
Or it's just poor performance. I blame my computer =P
I have noticed some players are WAY better now than they used to be.
i'm at 295.5 hours. I am tired of this game. Tomorrow, I probably wont be again...
As far as all this choose a new class or try new strategies, I'm always one of the best players an I've played every character longer than I play almost any other game...
Fucking updates might keep sucking me in. I think I need to uninstall.

WHAT? Downloading now. Will edit/post how I feel about it. (I was thinking of trying to figure out a way to rig a hunted map...and OMG A HUNTED MAP WAS ALREADY MADE!)
EDIT: Dang, you need a mod to prevent class switches and limiting classes and such. Nevermind, not that great...Though I'm still wondering how the VIP guy works...
