Disclaimer: I am not BigRed and have no bearing on real policy.

In the first case, I believe it's a matter of reasonability. I have fit two monitors and a NAS in my space in the past and nobody blinked, so I don't think a tablet would cross any lines.

In the second, I believe policy is that each person can have one guest so long as they stay together, but for enforcers they might bend that and let them hang out there without you. I don't know.

I'm pretty sure BigRed has said pretty vehemently in the past, "No guests in BYOC."
Now I don't know how that would bear on an Enforcer, but I know that BYOC has a no guests policy. I also know there is an equipment limit, and a space limit. BigRed would know the specifics of such.

In the case of laptops/tablets we have been very Lax in that regard. A lot of people bring both and charge one at their seat when they go to a pannel or somesuch.

With the case of a laptop/tablet as long as it stays within your space its fine. But the cavet is you only get 1 network port per seat, and we dont know if the PAX wireless will reach the BYOC room.

As far as the other thing ill answer that in PM. But yeah the policy of no guests in BYOC stands.

You need a network cable to hook up to the switch at your table.
id say 20-25ft minimum, otherwise it will limit where you can sit.

So we have a group of 4 and while we will get a pod of 4 together, having pre arranged seating would be better. so if anybody would like to join our group of 4 to make at least 6, let me know. We tend to play trackmania nations, golf questionmark, flatout 2, deathball (first person sports mod for ut2k4), most byoc tourney games, and a lot of other random stuff (nhl 94 emulated anybody). Send me a PM or I check this thread pretty regularly.

Real men use Cat5 for things other the LANs.

or make cat5 out of other twisted pair wiring.

Wireless vs. wired. And that's just routing, not the max speed between two ports on the same switch.

Nobody intelligent uses wireless for anything heavy or important. It's too slow and flaky. I works for basic internet, but not much else (yet).

You won't need 50', and to be honest it probably won't matter what kind of cable you have at patch lengths. If you get a long ass cable though, it's always best to get higher quality. CAT6a is the current best.

So I haven't received my BYOC stub thing in the mail yet, I will be asking BPT what is going on soon. My question is, if it doesn't arrive, what treasures should I bestow upon BigRed so as to not incur full hatred when my info has to be pulled up manually?

    -Cupcakes
    -Cookies
    -Pie
    -Candy
    -Spices

There is 3 of us going together (although admittedly I'm only travelling back this year, flying from hawaii for pax) from victoria. We also met somebody (SMES) on the Anacortes ferry (the best way to drive over IMO) from vic (well Mill Bay) last year.

I know some others are going, but liekly not in BYOC.
