What is the Mafia?

From Wikipedia-
The Mafia (also known as Cosa Nostra) is a Sicilian criminal secret society which is believed to have first developed in the mid-19th century in Sicily. According to historian Paolo Pezzino: "The Mafia is a kind of organized crime being active not only in several illegal fields, but also tending to exercise sovereignty functions – normally belonging to public authorities – over a specific territory..."

What else is Mafia? Well, over here we play a little game called Phalla which essentially is Mafia. Most of these games are dressed up in fancy clothes; little themes like popular TV shows, video games, movies, books, etc. These just cover the heart of what this truly is, a game where a group of people band together to kick out the outsiders amongst them.

This game is what I consider a sort of "return to your roots"; a palate cleanser, if you will. I promise you that no matter what this game appears like by looking at this post, boring and simple is not one of them. There will most likely be several roles which have never been used here before and I am testing out several ideas of mine.


Flavor-

The little town of Phallermo in Sicily has been ruled over by the local Mafia for generations. These thugs have stolen, extorted, blackmailed, and murdered in the town for too long and the townsfolk have had enough. Having banded together to rid themselves of this evil once and for all, they are a force to be reckoned with. However, the Mafia does not like their power to be threatened and they have infiltrated the village to put an end to this uprising. Will the Mafia, the village, the ghosts, the vampires, or the werewolves prevail? (I may or may not be kidding.)


Rules-
Unless otherwise stated, standard Phalla rules apply; send me links to proboards, no anonymous communication, etc. Vote in red and retract in lime. Retraction IS necessary. Clarify in orange, I will answer as many clarifications as I can. Vote will close everyday at 10:30 PM EST on the dot. Votes at 10:30 PM will not count. You are allowed to miss the vote once.

Phallermo has been controlled by the mob for a long time, this goes back generations. You and your fellow townspeople have finally had enough with this and have decided to band together to end the Mafia threat once and for all.

    A quick note, I don't believe that players should be the only ones to have fun in a game. So expect a lot of host interaction and general ramblings.

    Your underestimating how fast this will clear out. I like high death tolls.

    Just a quick note, I've made a few adjustments and trimmed down the player list to 25. This game also shouldn't last longer then 4 or 5 days, maybe shorter if people get lucky.
