So pissed I missed the video, has THQ said when it will be officially released?
I AM DIEING HERE.
Game companies generally don't give release dates for games that haven't even been announced.
Yea I would forget about when it will be officially released when really it doesn't even officially exist yet
Which is why I think its so funny how people have been nitpicking things in this video. The footage basically looks like nothing more than proof-of-concept yet there are complaints about things like the AI or chaos forces jumping from a loyalist Thunderhawk
wouldn't the player more or less have to die first then?
Work it into the plot.
And...woah...you beat a chaos marine to death with your fists.
Awesome.
Anyhow, it's a *very* early build it seems so I get why THQ doesn't want it out. I know someone below said the cinematic deaths might get old, but the guy says they want like 100+ of these so it should stay cool.

Yet another reason they need to go Blood Angels.

I dunno....some of the fluff on the traitior legions was a bit off.
Especially the Iron Warriors. I loved the idea. But the reason why the legion turned? Because the Emperor wasn't paying them enough attention.
<insert Linkin Park song here>
There needs to be more Blood Angel centred games. Because they are awesome.
Did you read a wildly different version of the Iron Warrior fluff then I did?
They turned because they were sick of getting the shit job of sitting in trenches lobbing shells at fortified positions for months to years on end and then getting garrisoned out to the point where they couldn't even do that well. Then their home planet goes and rebels, forcing the primarch to come home and kill everything that moves.
They where also the only Chaos legion that was able to deliver a good shot to the nuts of the Imperium after Horus fell, and that alone should be enough to get them a starring roll in a game.
Wait, wait, wait. You guys know that the SM army has more than general task force space marine, right? They have units specfically meant to kill things in hand-to-hand combat. Hell, all of the armies do.

Ahem. Alpha Legion.
Yeah, they gave Guilliman and his detachment of ultramarines a bloody nose, but (appearently) got their primarch killed in the process.
Iron Warriors set up a trap that rendered the entire Imperial Fist legion unable to do more then whine like whipped puppies for decades and reduced their Primarch to a sobbing hulk while he was using his buddies body for cover until the UltraMarines came to pull his jibblies out of the fire. The Iron Warriors primarch got elevated to Daemon Prince-hood.

Gaaaaaaaay.
Ultramarines are the most vanilla flavour of the already vanilla flavoured 40k race.
Dark Angels please. Or blood angels. Some variation on angels who kick ass.

I think to the average person a Space Marine is a Space Marine.

If it's not going to make a difference to the average player either way, why not change the graphics to give us a marine chapter that isn't boring? Not like they'd have to change the game that much for most of the chapters.
I just want the chance to play as a dreadnought. I know it's been said before, but I think it would be fun.
Even better if the game followed the marine through his entire "career". Starting as a scout (or even a normal person hoping to be a marine) then moving to full marine, then terminator then getting his ass kicked in during a truly epic battle only to awaken as an even bigger and better armored pile of kickass? Yes please.
Alternatively, a game showing the fall to chaos of a once loyal space marine could be damned entertaining to play too, if you'll pardon the pun. Could have some characte growth, deciding which mutations you took and all...

I can tell it's not an Ultramarine. Blue is too dark and dull, none of the secondary colors correspond (all the trim is dull metal), while both shoulders have that skull with halo emblem. Chances are it's another invented Chapter.
bolter fire should make the little guys explode in awesome and gruesome ways and the fancy melee combo stuff should be for the bigger guys.
A) bolter fire on little troops does not just stun them. thats just ridiculous. they're exploding mini warheads 5 second cutscenes every single time you kill a worthless little nuisance could get old very fast. the dudes just exploding around you would not take up time but still look awesome

It's like Games Workshop honestly has zero interest in appealing to anybody but the Space Marine players. I can actually completely understand them not making a game about one of the less-played armies (such as Dark Eldar, even though that would be pretty awesome) simply from a sales perspective, but c'mon, Space Marines are just... boring. They already did a crappy Tau game, so obviously they're out of the running.
How about Orks, though? Yeah, if we have to have a Space Marine game, being able to start as a Scout and work up to Dreadnaught would actually be interesting, but how about starting as a Grot and working your way up to Warboss? There could be actual humor instead of consistently idiotic fanatic loyalty, you would enforce your will with your particular mangling weapon of choice, and get to fight pretty much every race in 40k for glory.
Or devouring a world starting as a Tyrannid spore? Trying to survive a brutal campaign as a poor Imperial Guardsmen? Seriously, there are other armies besides the Space Marines that would provide a much more interesting experience and also have large followings in the tabletop arena.
Just anything but playing as a generic Space Marine (which means pretty much any Space Marine in this case).

I don't want to play a game based around gay sex.

Looks kinda cool, Although I think the "cina match u moments" could get kinda old.

An Ogryn would fuck up most marines in combat.
Rough Riders as well, though you would suck after the first hit of every mission :P

What are you smoking?
Sometimes they pray during live fire exercises. Got to admire the dedication.
they are like tiny golden supergods
I thought those prayers were highly ritualized forms of hitting the on switch.
I find your lack of faith in the Emperor disturbing.

Blood Angels already got the Space Hulk games.
How about giving the Dark Angels or the Imperial Fists a turn?
They only got the 2nd space hulk game. The Dark Angels got the first one.
Also Dark Angels suck. There i said it.
GM: Rusty Chains (DH Ongoing)
In tabletop terms, that is.
If we're going by fluff, those cultists should all die in .2 seconds.

It's true.
Except Too Human is already (poorly) doing the futuristic viking action game I guess.

That's because you're usually dead in about 20 different ways before you get close to one.

Clue: The origion of the Chapter name. Another clue; where the Primarch's name from and how it relates to the chapter name.

Imagine succumbing to the Black Rage IN GAME where you start to get hallucinations that you're refighting the Horus/Sanguinious battle.
Epic win.
Also, I demand the ability to play as a Drednaught at some point in this game.
