    So, I watched Curse of the Golden Flower the other day, and I really liked it. I found it a little confusing but after thinking about it, it's just a tragedy with some other underlying tones i don't care to elaborate on.

    I thought Curse of the Golden Flower was pretty cool since it's basically a Shakespearian style tragedy plus awesome Kung Fu.

    Also here's the staircase fight from The Protector if you haven't seen it.

    I'm just going to make a random list, to me, the line between good and bad kung fu is so fucking perilous.

    As a rule of thumb, any movie that The Shaw Brothers studio put out.

    One Armed Swordsman trilogy
    Master of the Flying Guillotine
    Five Deadly Venoms
    The 36th Chamber of Shaolin
    Lady Snowblood + II (not really kung fu, but awesome)
    The Crippled Masters
    Drunken Master + II

    etc.
