Ok, for those who don't know, Pushing Daisies is an awesome show about a pie maker named Ned. Ned has a special power, he can bring dead things back to life. But if he touches it again, it dies permanently. If he doesn't touch the thing again within a minute something else dies. In the show, Ned (played by Lee Pace)

leepace.jpg

solves murders with Private Investigator Emerson Cod (Played by Chi McBride)

chi-mcbride.jpg

by reviving the victim and getting all the murder facts. Then they split the reward money for solving the murder.

Also joining the cast is Ana Friel

an-anna-friel-picture.jpg

and Kirstin Chenoweth

kristin-chenoweth-picture-1.jpg

Also in the cast are Swoosie Kurtz

111689_9764_pre.preview.jpg

and Ellen Greene

ellen.jpg

And also narrated by the guy who did the Harry Potter books on tape!

This show aird in 2007 but because of the writers strike got knocked down to 9 episodes in its first season. Since then ABC has picked it back up and ran the first episodes on ABC with the new season starting on Wednesday, October 1st 2008 at 8pm on ABC.

So why should you watch this show? Well, for one its got fucking Chi McBride in it. That alone should be enough. But you want more huh? How about its got excellent character writing? The storytelling is very fairy-tale-ish. There's a narrator over the whole thing, the art style is pretty awesome along with that.

You can watch a couple of the episodes on ABC's Site HERE.

So dudes, lets talk about this kickass show and how awesome it is.

"Kick, pooh, kick!"

ALSO: The first season comes out on DVD on the 16th. You dudes should go buy it.

OP should mention that the narrator of the show is Jim Dale, who does the narration for the Harry Potter books-on-tape.

Also this show fucking rules and I'm so glad it's coming back.
They had a They Might Be Giants singalong in one of the episodes. Think about it.

I got my parents into this show last season. I forced it on them.

In 2003 they got me to watch Dead Like Me. I got so attached to it that it hurt when it was canceled. We all missed out on Wonderfalls though. So when I learned about PD being by the same guy I HAD to get them into it.

I set their DVR to record the encore presentation on that Friday night and told them to watch it. They did and we're all eagerly awaiting the next season.

I've decided I cannot justify buying the DVD's for this show. I don't own a Blu-Ray player, but there is no way I'm not getting the first season on Blu-Ray even before I have a player. I just hate that it was only 9 episodes because of the goddamned strike. Did they even get what they were fighting for? Was it worth it? To kill a lot of last seasons newcomers and almost kill the rest. At least The Office will make up for the short 4th season by giving us an extended 5th. I hope PD does the same thing.

Unfortunately the parents won't be able to borrow the BRD's until they get a player too. God, why are prices still $400?

the thing about ween is they're constantly high and write really, really strange music with no concerns for genre

so if you randomly listen to ween songs, you're gonna hear a lot of weird, jagged stuff

but the mollusk is a pretty cohesive album with a lot of catchy tunes on it

in that case you'll probably really like ween

just keep in mind that if you hear something of theirs that is absolutely terrible, just move on and pick a new song since they rarely write two songs that sound alike
