[OOC]Star Wars: Wolves in Sheeps Clothing

nefffffffffffnefffffffffff Registered User regular
edited September 2008 in Critical Failures
This is the OOC thread for the up-and-coming SW:SE campaign, Wolves in Sheeps Clothing.

Taking place 5 ABY, the group of 3-5 players will make up the crew of a small smuggling ship.

Character limitations include: No formally trained force users, no gungans, no ewoks. 25 point buy, characters begin at level 5. We will be using the core book, with possible conditional exceptions including mightyspacepope's species choice (because he asked in a manner quite befitting a gentleman).

First come first serve, although the people who expressed interest in the [INTEREST ON] thread have some priority. You will also need to decide on the role your character plays in the ship(to be decided amongst the crew) as well as develop some skeletal relationships between your characters to be fleshed out via RP.

Other whims I may insist upon: a few pieces of information from your characters back story that can be used for knowledge checks. There will be some intrigue/espionage, as well as bounty hunters tracking you down, so NPC's trying to and being able to find out about you will probably come into play.

That is all for now. Lets see some character concepts.

I spoke up in the other thread and I am still interested in this.

I am working on my sheet now but he will be a human soldier (shooter muscle). Ex-Merc or possibly even a liberated clone soldier.

I have a level seven clone built up: [edit]link removed... I'll build a new sheet for him[/edit]

I'll level him down and tweak him out for this.

Ok, I think I'm getting closer.

    Here's Round Two

I asked in the other thread about BAB. I can't find anything on it.

I'm going for Noble turned Scoundrel pilot.

Base Attack Bonus is your level.

Only if you are pure jedi/soldier(and many of the prestige classes). There are slower progression charts for the others.

Xam's BAB is probably a 3 (without looking it up).

    no, no, wrong

BAB is not equal to your level

it is detailed under the classes. whatever it says under however many noble levels you have plus however many scoundrel levels you have. so if you're a noble 2, you have BAB 1, and if you're a scoundrel 3, you have a BAB 2, making your total +3.

Posted this in the other thread too

Okay, hoping to finish writing up Roorwoorro, a Wookiee Scout 2/ Scoundrel 3, later tonight. Roorwoorro is a wrench monkey (<-- racism?! who can be sure in the future) and hopefully can also shoot some stuff occasionally. I didn't shoot for the skies with his abilities, but I'm okay with that.

    Abilities:
    str 14
    dex 12
    con 14
    int 16
    wis 9
    cha 9

Talents: Jury Rigger from Scout, Fast Repairs and Personalized Modifications from Outlaw Tech tree (see Wizards site)
Feats: Shake it Off, Skill Focus (mechanics), Skill Focus (physical sciences), Point Blank Shot, Tech Specialist, Careful Shot

there's also one more skill I haven't chosen yet.

I've been thinking & looking over what the others are putting forward. I'm going to shift gears from the BH idea and make a well rounded smuggler type; Scoundrel / Scout still the plan.

Well, while I wait on those questions here is my submition:

    Daxon Lightskimmer

Daxon, human, was raised in the outer rim. He learned at an early age how to fire a rifle and to trust his luck. As a young man Daxon joined a small hut gang and used his gift with a blaster rifle to create a nice nest egg for himself, but the clone war affected even the outer rim eventually and Daxon's gang fell apart during the conflict. Left to his own Daxon began taking on body guard and basic mercenary jobs to make ends meet.

Daxon isn't someone that is comfortable in big cities and has a hard time dealing with confinement. Yet oddly enough put him on a small freighter and he seems right at home.

    I believe I have a reserved slot? <3

I'm thinking of doing a Miralukan Scoundrel at the moment. Is Miralukan acceptable since they have Force Sight and all that jazz? She'll not be a Jedi or anything. Just one of the few Miralukan that managed to escape the wrath of the empire.

Heres my offering take her or leave her its col either way

    Lomi Avono

Lomi is your standard scoundrel, anything for a cred stick right? She is more the mechanic hacker for hire around the outer rim usually. Her last mission left her tinkering with tha vox box for a stinky pig with Jedi powers. After that she got scattered to the stars and could show up anywhere at any time.

(Some of my stuff may be wrong but I believe it was up to code with the last game that I did which had somewhat the same rules if I recall)

I give you K'krunk, Whiphid bodyguard.

K'krunk was previously in the service of a Hutt crime lord on Nar Shaddaa. He left his homeplanet of Toola in order to achieve GLORY and win MANY WHIPHID FEMALES. He has agreed to hire on with the smugglers as a bodyguard in order to achieve credits in order to secure GLORY and MANY WHIPHID FEMALES.

K'krunk speaks of himself often in the third person and mostly with exclamation points at the end of his sentences!

He liketh the red meat and to stare at the bosom and to hit things. When you get down to it, he's a man of simple tastes.

Also, the armor is a bit of a wish-list item. If it's not okay, that's no problem.

yo ok. So i've got more than 6 people who have expressed interest and reserved spots. they are:

    Dajian
    Fading
    Maximus
    Jimninja
    Kakos
    Pope

Six is kind of my limit for group size, but I can split it up into two groups running seprate campaigns (or perhaps working side by side, or against eachother? we can figure it out) if there are more people interested. Mosaic clearly is, INNS, and Arcaic, would that interest you? also feel free to argue amongst yourselves if you think that list is unjust and you had a spot reserved. after I make this post I'm going to look over the Interest thread to make sure that I didn't omit someone who called a spot because now I'm second guessing myself.

also: military grade weapons are a no-no for start up, but tell me what you want and if you are good I'll see what I can do in game. starting cash is your class max -- use it wisely on your equipment.

Reimus "Tux" Tucker is a middle aged human male with dark thinning hair and a deeply lined face with weathered features. He is a veteran of the clone war, having joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems in his youth to support the Separatist cause against what he saw as a corrupt and misguided republic. When the war broke out, Reimus enlisted - filling roles from grunt to pilot, but most notably serving as a forward scout.

After the fall of the Separatists Tux went into hiding for many years, keeping a low profile and drumming up as much smuggling business as he can while staying a step ahead of trouble. Currently, he looking to increase the scale of his operation with the goal of eventually being able to retire before he is shot or stabbed to death.

e~ He's not quite finalized, I need to do equipment and a bit else, but he's mostly there.

    Roorwoorro, Tech Specialist

Roorwoorro was only indirectly involved in the Clone Wars. As a Wookling on Kashyyyk, he was captured by Trandoshan mercenaries working with the Separatists shortly before the droid invasion of the planet and shipped away to be sold as slave labor in the Outer Rim. Eventually this landed him on Nar Shaddaa, where all roads meet, and where his mechanical aptitude became apparent.

Through the years, he became talented enough to purchase his own freedom (getting to full Wookiee size might have helped with this as well), and he found the best work that he could.

He harbors a great interest in the welfare of Kashyyyk and his people, and is therefore embittered toward the Empire and has a deep-seated hatred of Trandoshans. His dream is to someday return to Kashyyyk with a large amount of money and fund or establish an underground movement to throw off the yoke of the Empire.

Roorwoorro is unrefined, having come of age on the Smuggler's Moon, but he is fairly learned underneath his rough exterior. He is also fond of dejarik and rhythm-heavy music. He goes by "Rory" to closer acquaintances, his Shyriiwook name being hard for most people to pronounce.

Ideas: hai pope do you want to be the two big hairy guys who already know each other from before the ship

Good sir, nefffffffffff, I posed a question to you about whether I could play a Miralukan. Sadly, you never responded, likely due to your busy schedule or my not making my post noticed; if I am at fault for this oversight, I most sincerely apologise. The Miralukans are out of the KotOR source book, which you said weren't outright allowed, but you implied if we asked in a gentlemanly manner, you might consider it. So, at your behest, I am here acting like a gentleman. May I offer you some tea and crumpets, chap?
