I definitely feel like Blizzard can come up with a way to balance the scaling issues. I still like my idea of swinging less often on auto-attacks, without reducing the AP benefit from doing so.
Or flat out reducing white damage in general, but buffing rage generation accordingly to remain neutral.
I'd sort of like TG to have something interesting woven into it that would be its balancing point. Rather than, "oops you miss things alot" maybe something that would proc and slow your speed down for a short time, like fatigue.
It really wasn't compared to what you see with Ret Paladins.
Yeah, a healing class. If you're fighting mobs and not losing health, or only a very small amount per enemy, that's too much healing. I'd say going from 100% health to 50% after fighting 7 or 8 mobs might be about right.

I still haven't tried it because UD Warriors look horrid with a 1 hander + shield. Maybe i'll give it a shot now since it's so "leetzorz"

I like that charge and intercept don't share a CD, making prot warriors the most mobile creatures in PvP. They could even be druid killers in WSG and easily surpass druids in flag carrying with charge+intercept+intervene to go a billion yards in 4 seconds.
So many stuns, so much fucking utility. So fucking unkillable.
You'll want a prot warrior in 5v5, for certain. Stunning the entire other team? Giving your squishy +5% to avoid the fucker rogues? Intervening to save a life? Being completely unkillable, unrootable, and totally mobile?
Fuck yes

I'm no expert, but you're missing a few obvious talents and taking a few that seem questionable, in my opinion. Also you're apparently planning to stop leveling at 72 :P
Anyway, from what I can see... You need 1 point in Last Stand, its basically an instant-cast heal for 30% of your life, and its too good to pass up for only 1 point. Three points in Focused Rage (reducing rage cost on every ability you have by 3) also seems too good to pass up. I would then take 2 points out of Safeguard and put one of them back into Warbringer, unless you have it for PvP reasons, in which case you want Warbringer anyways. I've never intervened in PvE without immediately taunting when I got there, so the damage reduction seems unnecessary, in my opinion.
Anger Management is deemed kinda useless by everybody I've heard from, though I'm not sure exactly why. I guess its just a negligible amount of rage. Iron Will seems like a waste of points, and I'm still not entirely sold on Tactical Mastery. If you're not doing a lot of stance switching, it seems like a waste of 3 points. Especially if you're not even using those points to get you to Impale.
Regardless, even if you ignore all of that, those 8 points you didn't put anywhere that you'd get by leveling that build up to 80 should go into Cruelty and Armored to the Teeth in the Fury tree. Your dps and threat will thank you.
I forgot about last stand/armored to the teeth the children next door are throwing firecrackers at each other and screaming a lot
I took anger management because I stance dance to break fear, drop execute, Do mocking blow if I blew all my other taunts and other reasons I cannot think of right now. Back in vanilla wow I heard it a few too many times about the lack of rage warriors would get when hitting the defense cap so it's worked for me so far.
The beauty of Anger Management is that you only lose 2 rage per tick rather then 3 rage. It doesn't seem like much but it can make a difference when eating/bandaging between mobs. (Sometimes I need health while still on the bandage cooldown so have to eat something.)
It isn't as if 50g for a respec will mean much when the expansion hits.

Armored to the Teeth got nerfed into 2AP per 360 armor, Thunderclap's threat increased and no longer has a limit on how many targets it can hit, and Revenge and Shield Slam got buffed.

There seem a few things I don't like about this build but if you're set on it you should take 3 points out of Puncture (3 rage off the cost of sunder/devastate) and put them in Focused Rage (3 rage off the cost of all offensive abilitys).

A nerf to prot warriors, but that's a minor buff to DPS warriors. Same effect with less AC needed. Looks like they felt the raw STR would have been too powerful, what with the new STR > BLK calculation now.

Its still giving raw strength. She says later that she meant the two AP you get from 1 point of Str.

No, it's giving AP. That's the whole point of the nerf, to make it less godly for Prot Warriors. What she mentions later is a correction: in her original post she says it now gives 1AP per 360 armor, which when compared to the previous incarnation (1str per 400 armor) would've cut the effectiveness of the talent in half.
Armored to the Teeth -- Changed to AP, but amount reduced to 1 per 360 armor (to compensate for the loss of Blessings of Kings etc.). We implemented this talent for dps warriors and didn't want it to feel like the ultimate Shield Block Value talent. It's still good for Protection, just not as good. Death Knights will get the same treatment.
EDIT: I meant 2 AP : 360 per talent point. My point was that we understand 1 Str > 2 AP for warriors.
Shame about the Armored to the Teeth "nerf", but the Thunder Clap, Devastate, and Shield Slam buffs are very nice. Everybody agree its still worth taking Armored to the Teeth for a prot tanking build?
Revenge -- Added to Sword and Board as a chance to proc Shield Slam. Increased its damage significantly. We want Revenge to be the button you push first.
Having that work with Sword and Board is great on its own, but does anybody have numbers on how significant this significant damage increase is? If its the "button you push first", does that mean its even more damage than Shield Slam? Improved Revenge talent is sounding more attractive with this buff, too...
Revenge
Rank 9 80 Instantly counterattack an enemy for [ 9.3% of AP + 652 ] damage and a high amount of threat. Revenge is only usable after the warrior blocks, dodges or parries an attack.
5 Rage, 5 yd range, Instant, 5 sec cooldown
I don't know if that's the old version or the new version, but that's a lot of damage for 2 rage.

So I got my Whirlwind Axe and switch to Arms spec.
But my DPS is pretty shit in my mind. It's very slow. I don't have an instant attack yet because I'm only 36, and thus don't have MS. I'm sure it'll get better.
Also, should I be using Charge then switching to Berzerker stance for the 3% crit while sacrificing Rend?
