[Interest on]SW:SE campaign

Alright, I've decided that I'd like to try GMing a PbP Saga Edition game. I've got the beginnings of a campaign worked out already, and I am just looking for interested players.

The setting will be the early rebellion era, so there won't be many jedi's running about. There will, however, be lots of smugglers and bounty hunters and such. The PC's all start out as crew members on a smuggling ship so keep that in mind when coming up with a character concept.

I'm looking for 3-5 players. I'd like the game to have as much RP as it does action, and I plan on throwing some puzzles in there as well as just combat-oriented challenges.

anybody interested?

As I posted in the Saga Interest thread, I would be interested in playing an ex-separatist bounty hunter. What level-ish were you thinking?

Expressing interest, maybe! Also questioning the levelness of the characters.

level 5 sounds like a good starting place to me. I'm going to go ahead and say no gungans or ewoks either. I'm saying this for RP reasons as well as because dealing with a gungan character would probably be bad for my blood pressure.

Also, for RP reasons we can only either have a trandoshan(s) or a wookiee(s). It's hard to imagine a circumstance where members of races predisposed to hate each other would willingly work on a ship together.

I'm not sure exactly how many years after the clone wars this will take place yet. let me get back to you on that.

    EDIT: I'm thinking 5 BBY.

Awww. No Jedi? What's the fun in Star Wars if I can't toss Star Destroyers around?

I'm interested, but I'll have to ponder on what kind of character to play.

Actually, it was the "No Jedi" vibe that made me have to consider whether or not to sign up. If I have the choice, I will probably always choose to play a Jedi. Or a soldier with a lightsaber and Force-Sensitive.

In any case, will be content to monitor and watch the fun.

Can I call dibs on a droid character? I'm thinking astromech (prototype R3, maybe, "liberated" from the Imps), but if you guys want me to play a different droid type, I'd be game.

Scoundrel has a bunch of "in space" Talents, but soldier would be good... soldier will keep you from falling into the "only useful in the cockpit" trap.

    I'm drafting up a Scout4/Scoundrel1.

I'm thinking that I'm going to go straight soldier and play a Whiphid, if that's ok with you, nefffffff. They're in the Force Unleashed Campaign Guide, if you're okay with us using species from the supplements. I'm basically going to be the muscle.

I'm thinking either a Bith or a Wookiee. Either way, a mechanic/slicer with the Tech Spec feat probably, unless that's the niche that delroland was hoping to fill, in which case I could be more muscle since things always need a shootin'.

you didn't calculate your bab or add your bonus damage from level to your blaster damage.

i'm pretty sure you can't have skill focus in persuasion if you're not trained in the skill.

Also, if you intend to use the social skills abilities you have as a noble, you might consider bumping CHA up, maybe taking a few points out of CON to do so.

If you'd prefer to be the lying, piloting, mechanic-ing, computer-using type guy, scoundrel might be a better fit.

Generally game masters use the 25 point buy method, so I would assume that's what Nef is expecting unless he says otherwise.

Also, a noble without the persuasion skill is about as useful as a Jedi without the Use the Force skill. Strongly consider picking it up if you want to stick with noble.

From the skills you picked, it looks like your character might be better served as a scoundrel (or at least have levels mostly in scoundrel). Any bits about your character being from the upper class could just be fluff from your backstory. With your current stats/skills, I'd consider something like Scoundrel 3/Noble 1/Soldier 1 if you're really dead set on sticking with noble.

Also, like fading said, most GMs will go with the 25 point buy, so it's a safe bet you figure out your stats with that in mind.

wow, I'm glad to see that there is a lot of interest in my campaign. Fading is right, 25 pt buy. Also: pope, I don't have that book so i'm not sure about a whiphid. what sort of stats and racial abilities do they have? I'll probably end up allowing it, I just want to know what i'm getting into.

I'm going to start up an OOC thread as soon as I make this post to work as the new base of operations for SWSE: Wolves in Sheeps Clothing

They have +4 STR, -2 INT, -2 WIS. Their size is Large, so they take a -1 penalty to Reflex Defense and a -5 penalty to Stealth checks. Base speed is 6 squares. They get a +5 bonus due to their fur when resisting cold. They can opt to do 1d6 points of slashing damage with their claws instead of their normal unarmed damage. They also have Scent, which allows them to ignore concealment and cover for the purposes of making Perception checks within 10 squares.

Okay, hoping to finish writing up Roorwoorro, a Wookiee Scout 2/ Scoundrel 3, later tonight. Roorwoorro is a wrench monkey (<-- racism?! who can be sure in the future) and hopefully can also shoot some stuff occasionally. I didn't shoot for the skies with his abilities, but I'm okay with that.

    Abilities:
    str 14
    dex 12
    con 14
    int 16
    wis 9
    cha 9

Talents: Jury Rigger from Scout, Fast Repairs and Personalized Modifications from Outlaw Tech tree (see Wizards site)
Feats: Shake it Off, Skill Focus (mechanics), Skill Focus (physical sciences), Point Blank Shot, Tech Specialist, Careful Shot

there's also one more skill I haven't chosen yet.
