I do not like Titan's Grip current "balancing". I must've had quite an unlucky streak last night, but it was annoying missing BT. Hated that I was getting mad white hit crits, WW crits, but couldn't get a BT crit even if my life depended on it.

Still favoring paladin for tanking too. They still have an awesome edge on AoE tanking. I might try a DK when live hits, they are really fun once you get the hang of it.

Last I checked it still ends in midair.

Speaking of quests, the Legend of Stalvan is some weird shit. I mean, when I first did it, I sure as hell didn't expect that I'd be chasing in the foot steps of a honest-to-goodness pedophile. Murderers, thieves, elemental lords, sure, but a pedophile? That seems a little weird for a game like this.

Speaking of loose ends, anyone remember the Scythe of Elune quest line that took you from Ashenvale to Ratchet to Booty Bay to Duskwood? Black Riders, Sven, Jitters, Velinde Starsong... it had it everything and they just left us hanging.
"This quest line was originally intended as the alliance introduction to SFK, but unfortunately Blizzard screwed up at some point and made it end well past SFK's level range, so it just ends awkwardly. Where the Scythe is now is never explicitly stated, but there's a lot of things that point toward Arugal as a possibility."

So I'm pretty damn sure that my guild is not gunna make it to the expansion. No one shows up to raid anymore -- and there's a buncha pissed people.

I know that this is when guilds sorta break down, but it just sucks getting your shit done for raid night and then logging on and having 15 people on.

Did all of Kara minus prince on my moonkin, then later on I get a random invite for BT. I tell them I'm way undergeared and he doesn't care. Just killed Supremus, got 5th on the meter. Haha good times.

Edit - on a more useful note; it is a fun game that has its moments, but truly shines if you have some friends to get in to it with. Don't get caught up in the "Alliance OR Horde" mentality that some folks get in to. Try playing both sides it adds some nice variety. There can be a lot to take in at first, just go at your own pace. Don't worry about rushing to the level cap, see the sights, read the quests, enjoy the experience (points).

Hunters are considered newb friendly as the addition of having a pet allows for a certain margin of error, but really go with whatever you think sounds fun and run with it. If it gets dull/doesn't suit you, you can always re-roll.

Honestly, if I were starting from scratch now and I had some guarantee that it would maintain a decent number of subscribers, I'd probably pick Warhammer over WoW. Everything I've heard makes WAR sound more fun for new players, whereas with WoW, you don't get the good bits until you've caught up with everyone else.

Oh yeah, question. Do you need a 60 on the server you want to create you DK on, or is it once you have a 60, DK is unlocked across all the servers?

Yep. WoW starts at 70 (80), but you're expected to know the ins and outs of your class by that time.

If you have a friend that plays, get them to send you a trial key. You get to try the game out for free, if your friend makes a new character you will both get triple XP while you're grouped together, and if you end up subscribing your friend will get some free game time and a mount.

    Everybody wins :)
    (but mostly your friend)

EDIT: re: Warhammer vs. WoW - I'm currently playing both and I don't really see it being a case of "you'll only want to play one or the other". Both are good games but the content they focus on is quite different. WoW is far from dead, with the new expansion on the horizon you can guarantee it will be going strong for at least another 2 years, and possibly longer, so you certainly don't have to worry about having missed the boat. There's still plenty of time to catch up and get into the end-game.

Also you can try WoW for free, I don't think Warhammer has that option yet.

I'd disagree, really. The old-world stuff is still VERY fun, just not if you've done it twenty times or so. For an experienced player moving to a new server, yeah, that shit gets boring really fast. But for a brand-new player, it remains just as fun as it used to be.

That said, I'm really considering WAR myself, so...

The leveling process is good fun for a first timer. Seeing all these new and interesting zones, figuring out quests that take you all over the world, wondering whether or not you can take on that elite over there...

Most people forget about this because by the time you've got a few alts leveled up the leveling process is about as fun and interesting as having a doberman gnaw on your crotch, but it's definately fun the first time around.

Leveling in WAR sucks balls. I'd rather do 1-70 again in WoW than grind in WAR. I had cancelled my WoW account and preordered WAR, was all ready to move on.. and now my WAR account is cancelled and I'm back playing WoW. Shit is fucking slow and boring in WAR.

And what of people in Forar's position, with no extra space for a DK, and who don't intend to delete anything? I predict any new servers being introduced for WotLK will have 'LF1M Healer, we are 4 DKs!' all the time :D

I was thinking more Emerald Dream Horde and Stormrage Alliance, but I suppose that could make three realms.

Not that I'd likely play much on any of them, but the ability to skip the old world bullshit that I've done so many times it's painful alleviates that just a little.

Well, to be fair, I only have 9 spots filled on my realm. The 10th is a level 10 belf rogue that I can (but don't) use to talk to people on the other faction.

I'd prefer not to have to delete her to make space for my DK, but I'll do it.

Adding an 11th class with no new space, however, will lead to a long and ugly conversation between Blizzard customer support and me.

Well if we project this trend, if the next hero class is a healer, these are likely to become the two dominant classes populating most realms. After which the only reason most people will have to reroll a non-hero class, aside from boredom, will be pure necessity to fulfill some class-specific function in a raid.

Blizzard will then have four choices; (1) give the other classes something irresistibly appealing that the two hero classes won't have, (2) ironically nerf the hero classes beyond recognition, (3) at some point allow for every class to start at 55 provided the account has at least one character of that level or higher or (4) Incorporate into the official lore how Azeroth became completely overrun by Death Knights and [TBA Healer Hero Class].

Personally, I hope it's the lore thing.

You can have 10 characters per server, and play on as many servers as you like. There is a character limit, but it's something silly like 50 so I don't think you'll ever have to worry about it.

Nope, unless they've changed something recently. You can be sapped on a mount just fine, far as I know/recall. Most people just dismount in order to react to protect themselves once it wears off.

Also, many people probably use their trinket, which in and of itself does dismount you.

Edit: being sheeped/ploymorphed is far more annoying, because it DOES dismount you.
