I learnt MTG this summer when I was a camp counselor, as my first co-counselor was a massive Magic player with six or seven decks. It was a great way to keep the campers quiet during the free time and rest hour.
We played a bit of Risk as well - I consider kicking a thirteen-year-old's arse at Risk one of the sweetest victories of my gaming life, especially as my last turn took me from North America through Asia into Eastern Europe. My strategy throughout the game? Land war in Asia.

Got my second D&D run on Sunday, I had a blast the first time. Making some cranberry white chocolate blondies for us to munch on.

Diplomacy is pretty cool.
.. My first proper 4ed D&D campaign is starting up proper in the next couple of weeks. I should have been doing more prep, but between the new project starting up at work and complete dominion over DVD, Games and beer drinking with the wife away, I just haven't found the discipline to sit down for an hour and re-edit my player handout and NPC notes.
The Forgotten Realms Player's Guide is kind of faggoty.
The new 4E one?
How so?
Edit: Cuz if it sucks, I ain't buyin' it.
I guess it isn't awful, I just have no interest in playing Drow or Gensai (Elemental race), and most of the new classes seem kinda cheesy, other than Dark Pact Warlocks.
MTG is fun if you play Standard (Type 2) or some form of limited. Drafting is pretty much the best thing in the world as far as MTG goes. Seriously the game is still hella fun.
Risk is fantastic. I have the Lord of the Rings Risk but that's just not as good as real world Risk.
I also am forever trying to convince friends to play Catan with me.
Monopoly is fucking awesome but good luck finding three people that agree with you. Last game I played I put porno on the laptop and nobody paid any attention and I won handily. that was after they started pouring me drinks and had nothing for themselves.
If work would stop kicking my ass so much and more than half of my runners would let me know when they can play than we can get started.
Knob don't get me started on 4th edition, I would have been happy to stick 3rd. The magic system alone was so much better, plus I had the rules down pat.
Alright, Wubble Wooers, I got some advice from the other forum a few days ago but you people are my kinda stupid so here goes:
Eberron campaign, 3.5, warforged artificer, starting at level 3. I'm going with a pure crafter build 'cause I gots my homies to handle the mobs and I'm pumping out homonculi for crafting all my gear. Question is, "depending on which way I go, I could have 1-2 feats for metamagic crafting, so what should I take?"

I give all my magic related players this advice:
Initiate and take masking as your first metamagic option as soon as possible. Otherwise you'll stick out on the astral plane far too much.
Sorry, if anyone bails I will let you know right away.
Don't go killing Orik or Captain K now.
I haven't got back to you yet because I"m not sure if my professors are still going to be on strike next week. once I know, you'll know. I'm probably just going to use the sample Hacker character and write up a backstory, because i've always been more into RPing than mechanics stuff anyway.

Which books are those in? Or do you have an online referrence?
I grew up with Acquire, it's really cool. I need to find a good version of it. Unfortunately the new version has crappy cardboard tiles, so I'll have to look in thrift stores and garage sales for the old one.

[TINY]Actually that's my generic advice for magic characters in Shadowrun. I know absolutely nothing about Eberron.[/TINY]
A more feasible plan might be to join an existing club and introduce board games to the other members.
"I say, Lord Featherstonehaugh-Chumleigh, would you care to adjourn to the Drawing Room for brandy and a game of Carcassonne? Maybe later we can persuade the Earl of Tweed-Upon-Thames to try out his new Magic deck and settle a wager I have with the Duke of Spiffington-by-the-Wold - one guinea rests upon the notion that a Rainbow Deck cannot withstand a good Red/Black alliance."
This girl at my tabletop club joked about bringing Twister to the next session. This is possibly the worst idea I've ever heard.
Saru, the problem is that there's always some guy that is simply unsavory and has no social graces. There would have to be an application process, like a country club.
I'd like to have a physical copy of Lost Cities, but I doubt anybody is really willing to play with me. Board and card games reach such a limited audience, it kind of stinks to enjoy them.
I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Killer Bunnies, it just feels like there's so much randomness that has absolutely nothing to do with actually winning the game. Of course, this might also be due to the fact that the first time I played, I was playing with people who owned EVERY EXPANSION. Munchkin is like this too, to a lesser extent, but I haven't played Munchkin enough to really give an accurate accounting of it.

I haven't played anything since like 97 when I DM'd Shadowrun.
I flipped through it in a book store and didn't really see anything interesting besides the doomguide.

but I can never get anyone to play them with me
I am too cool for my own good I guess

Does it show you too your doom?
Huzzah!
I always play the pacifist and fortify a continent and never pick a fight with anyone and build up and up and for some reason I always win.
I've seen some kind of "new" edition of Risk in stores and I'm curious but at the same time frightened

you know, one of those old fashioned clubs
like, basically a gentlemen's club, with the booze and the cigars and such
except instead of watching naked women prance around
we play WoW TCG and board games and occassionally have a LAN party.
Is this something other people might be interested in paying dues for, y/n?
Mostly I want a nice place where I can enjoy my hobby with having to politely tell 15 year olds that I am really not that interested in Yugioh.
