Hate: FUCK You Blizzard! I try to do lowbie quests to get the loremaster title. on the PTR server i find that i need 380(730 total) quests in Kalimdor and 150(700 total) quests in EK to finish the old school content(as alliance).
Do you know how hard thats going to be? especialy since they all are "low level" now and dont show up on the mini map. They could at least add an option to let you see them if you want, Its not like its a big programing task. Put it in as an option in the interface options: want to see low level quests y/n.
You're in luck! There is now a low level quest tracker that's coming with the patch.
Yup, but it means toggling off your other map tracking things. (Find Minerals, Find Herbs etc)
Weren't there screenshots of underwater zones and stuff pre-BC?
That's all in Deadwind Pass. By the graveyard, there's a crypt that you can get feared through (the gate's closed but fear doesn't care!). That's where the screenshots are from, but that place is VERY empty.

Some of my guildies still run karazhan every week, although fuck if I know what they're trying to get out of it.
I think at this point anyone still running Kara on their main is either their guild's pally tank (:() or is just doing it out of habit because clearing Kara weekly, for the majority of BC, was just the done thing. Thats what you did. If you were a 10man guild you did it on raid nights, if you were a 25man guild you did it on a Friday or Saturday night.

Hate: Pally Power, with a passion. People get so bent out of shape about it, it's silly. I got into an argument with some guild mates (who don't play paladins) about the benefits of it. I don't like it. I don't like mods that automate things for me. One of the things I love about playing a paladin is I have to pay attention to everything, and I don't get bored. My mage is boring because I can hit 2 buttons tops the entire time.
Happy: My mage has a kickass fishing outfit and some people love it.
Amused: A random hunter wanted a port to Shatt, which I usually don't do. He then opened a trade and gave me 2 runes. That's what surprised me.

I'm of this opinion too. I want to play the game, not let the game play itself for me. If I wanted that, I'd load up ProgressQuest.
One exception though: Decursive back in Vanilla, in particular when it came to decursing in Molten Core. Seriously, fuck that place and how some of the fights are designed to have a million billion debuffs on 40 people at all times.

Some Paladin in my guild constantly bitches at me for not using PP because he feels without it people lose track of what blessing they're supplying.
It's not hard to coordinate buffs. I've been doing this since 2005 and I find it fun. Lets say in a 25 man raid you have 3 paladins and 2 have kings. Simply decide who hands out kings, which goes to everyone then. The other 2 then figure out who hands out salv to everyone. Whoever doesnt get salv gets the 10 minute buff of their choice. The last person hands out whatever is left.
Now since salv is going away, all we have left is: kings, might, wisdom, and sanctuary. So it will be eveneasier.
After playing since launch, I was finally forced into installing an Add-on. I was basically told, after out agroing the tanks over and over after a slew of upgrades, DL omen, or you're not coming to the raids anymore.
So I did. Now everyone is trying to tell me to DL more and more, but fuck them.

I can understand Omen, since threat limits are important to tanks. It's info they need to know. But now it's being built into the default UI, so Omen might, due to some sort of backwards miracle, go away.

People just panic when they look at the PP window and don't see every paladin in there. It means they have to manually remember some of them, and they specifically use the mod so they DON'T have to manually remember. It makes them feel cheated.
"___ has Might/Wisdom, ___ has Light/Salv, ___ has Kings." is simple and it works. But people want to enact ornate blessing assignments. Luckily, no more Salv or Light next week.

The worst thing about decursive was when A: They still wouldn't cleanse off the debuffs and B: when they were beaten, in a landslide, by the one pally not using it.
And ya'll should know my stance on automating mods.

I only think Omen is necessary because some of the TBC encounters were obviously designed with threat meters in mind, otherwise how are you to know you're behind two tanks on Gruul or VR? I think they said at some point they were moving away from using threat as a fight mechanic in that way in Wrath.

I liked the old version of Gatherer that let you load a preexisting database of node locations, but the author decided to remove the ability in later versions.
Several MC fights without decursive (unless your cleansers were top notch) were a giant pain in the ass. Then Blizzard outright stated they were designing encounters with Decursive in mind. Then they killed Decursive, and didn't adjust the encounters. A cleanser that was on the ball could keep up with a fuckwit mashing a macro, but good people with decursive were hard to beat. However, these fights had a number of YOU MUST REMOVE THIS IMMEDIATELY OR YOU ALL DIE AND THEN YOU START OVER HA HA HA mechanics, which were bullshit in an unadjusted state.
Also, good man for getting Omen. Too bad it may well be completely outdated (depending on the quality of Blizzard's built in UI update, and whether or not we see threat mechanics used significantly in WLK).

Well, Korvos was an exceptional paladin. And I reached the point in nilla WoW where nobody could convince me to get bossmods or meters when A: people who had meters still pulled aggro on Vael and B: I was the only fucking warrior, aside from the MT. who wouldn't get feared by Nefarian.
And again I say! Only person who needs threat meters is numba 1 stunner deeps (not hunter or rogue)

Their threat meter leaves a lot to be desired. It will be great for showing mouth breathers the basic concept but it's not an omen replacement yet.
It was a right of passage to do MC/BWL without decursive. And after that you used it because it was just serious bullshit.
Wow. I have now been obsessively reading these forums through two debate/argument/comment sessions on pally power and how it {is necessary}/{is horrible}/{is not cool enough for me}. I might need a new hobby.

Beyond Normal, the problem with you not wanting to use Pally Power, is that if you don't use it, no one else can either, because it COMPLETELY screws up assigning blessings in a 25man, because not only do they have to assign their own blessings, they have to remember which blessings you are doing. What about if you're assigned to do all the oddball blessings? How is anyone, including you, goin to remember to give the druids Might, but give the resto druids Wisdom and the Moonkin salv, then give the Ret paladin a 10min Might, the Prot paladin a 10min Light, then give a Prot warrior Light and a DPS warrior Salv...
Sure, maybe you can remember that, but if I'm the paladin leader for that raid, I don't want to have to remember that blessing assignment, thats why I got Pally Power, so I didn't have to remember.
I'm all for making the game more pure for yourself if thats what you want, but choosing not to use Pally Power is a choice that affects every other paladin in the raid too, and is fucking selfish. Of course, if you only do 10mans with another paladin or maybe even no other paladins, thats another story, not using Pally Power is fine there. But if you try to do 25mans without Pally Power, you might not even notice, but you're creating a huge headache if everyone else is trying to use it.
Edit: To clarify, I am not attacking you and saying "l2install pallypower nub". What I am saying however, is don't go into a 25man raid that uses Pallypower and get offended if they get upset with you for not using it, because its entirely justified on their part.
The biggest thing with the threat meter in beta is that it didn't come with an explanation. So there are colored bands around your character portrait, and symbols by the mob's name, and little signs that say "attacking you" (well, that one's obvious), and "losing threat", etc. So there's a lot of poorly explained data being thrown around, unlike the fairly concise information that Omen shows in its little popup box.
Some of my guildies still run karazhan every week, although fuck if I know what they're trying to get out of it.

Yeah, *grin* they do it on friday night usually, which isn't a normal raid night. I guess it's just habit.

There'll likely be some way for post-expansion mods to tap into the raw numbers and show accurate bars.
Re: Threat meter...from what I understand, it'll be difficult to pull come 3.0 anyways....
Whether that ends up being the case or not, I still think a threat meter of some sort is an invaluable tool. Tank threat isn't always a consistent thing, misses/resists, delays due to re-positioning, capping out due to mana/rage starvation etc... having that information available to you is just too handy to go without imo.

"Hunters need Wisdom"
"Rogues don't have Might"
"Who's giving Salv?"
"Why do Warlocks have Sanc?"
"Jesus, let me redo assignments..."
<two minutes later>
"I still don't have salv."
"Why don't Warriors have Kings anymore?"
Hate: How I'm basically going ot have to sit on WoW from now until 5am on tuesday probably, waiting for a magtheridon group to form. BOTH TIMES today I've given up and gone to do something else, I log in to see a pug running it.
And then some Hunter pipes up with "Can I have Salv instead?"
Does PP have some option to list individual-assignment blessings in addition to Greater ones? I missed that if it has it.
Yeah, when you open up the grid where you assign buffs, there'll be a list of names at the top of each class column, you can click (or maybe right-click) any of the names up there to set a 10 minute buff. To cast it, you use the little box for each player that appears beside the class box when you hover over it.

Yep. Under each class there's a list of which people each class has in it. You can left click on their name, then highlgiht a paladin and then assign the blessing, that paladin can then rightlcick on their pallypower button instead of leftclick and it will assign the 10min blessing.
