I love me some Stargate, but as far as plot, drama, directing, production values, character growth, and sheer "Holy Shit!" factor go, BSG wins. Stargate wins for comedy and laid-back popcorn type entertainment. And I say that having seen all 10 seasons of SG-1 and both movies.
New Phallica was supposed to be a good thing. A dream come true. Finally, a hidden, sustainable planet for us to settle on, and we were finally starting to adapt, too. The planet was finally feeling like home to us after a year, and then the cylons arrived. We had taken a chance with staying, and lost it all.
But the chrome jobs didn't exterminate us all after all. They claimed that they had given things thought, and were going to give co-existing with the human colonists a second chance. That the genocide was a mistake, believe it or not. Never thought I would hear it coming from those frakking machines.
Their idea of co-existing, though, was intolerable. Now we are not even in charge of our own lives. If the cylons want a curfew, they implement it. They take people in the middle of the night and some are never seen again.
We may not be in open conflict, but we're not free anymore.
That's how we got started; to fight until we can't. But the first thing that we needed was someone to show the way; someone to make the tough decisions.

The insurgents must elect a leader; please do so in bold lime.
This leader will gain a number of different abilities. The person in second place becomes second in command; in the event of the leader's death or capture they will automatically take over until a new leader is elected.
The insurgent leader makes all tactical decisions in the case of a fight.
The leader of the insurgents can be killed by a direct kill ability, but the identity of the attacker will be announced in public.
hmm I'd be interested in the Leader role. Although this is mainly due to vanilla nature of my role and lack of fear in being seered. I'm not sure I'm the most exemplary candidate, but I have been a decent network head in the past (if overly apologetic)... Anyway just one option , if others aren't too keen on the position.

Why are you letting thorgot and your fellow ex-cylons down?
What do you mean "why do I ask"?
I think I have some kind of mini-series around here somewhere?

It was worse than we had imagined.

...right?
Also, the best part of this game is that I don't even have to change my avatar. Awesome.
