I'll add my two little cents about the legendary thing.
To me it's the fact that while yes, alot of us could get legit legends come platinum, the problem lies in new players that didn't know better. They get screwed while we reap the benefit in what would become a fairly legend heavy metagame.
Why would you assume that?
Because the fact that many legends are so popular.
Cresselia, Azelf, Heatran, Suicune, Zapdos to name a few. Look through the RMT section at some other place and you're bound to see several of each of those in the teams.
It was just my opinion =P
*shrug* I don't see how it's much different than using an OU team against beginning players.

I dunno. Outside of this tournament, only me and blue tend to use OU-heavy teams all the time from what I've seen.

Yeah, I lose. Hippowdon put me in a position where no option was good.
EDIT:.......

WHY THE FUCK DID I NOT USE FOCUS BLAST
Bless that fat bitch of mine.
ooph, three fucking crits in a row from surf. Yipes.
But, yeah you should have used Focus Blast at the end, might have been enough. Of course, it would have to hit 3 times in a row. But who knows... well yeah it wouldn't happen, not with my bullshit luck against you.
ok, it would only have to hit twice, cause of machamp. But I have Bullet Punch, and maybe it would go critical? Or do enough damage with sandstorm.
anyway.
I win!
Using no legendaries helps keep the whole thing legitimate. Getting a legendary, that's no problem. Getting a tournament-useful one without hacking, now that's damned near impossible. In this enviroment, you'd soon see a newcomer to the league with a team made up of hacked legends and two pokes to balance the type exposure out. With thier god-like stats, that person would run roughshod over the rest of us, and people would stop playing and go hammer nails through thier fingers or something. Keeping the non-legendary rule in place makes it easier for the entire group to have a shot at winning (at least if that person in the group isn't named JaysonFour. ), and makes it easier for those who want to get better to do so.
It also helps new players because then we can teach them how to breed some of thier own monster pokemon, thereby increasing the number of people playing against everyone, making us all better in the end.
Yeah, I lose. Hippowdon put me in a position where no option was good.

No, no, I mean, I should've had Alakazam use it. I don't think it would kill Empoleon, but it would mean that it would be low enough for Gengar to kill with Shadow Ball, and then he could've swept the other two.
Basically, fucking hell do I hate myself sometimes.
The best part was that I was thinking about it at one point! I was weighing it against Psychic, and somehow my brain decided that 20% damage is preferable than a shot at an OHKO.

oooh ok. But with Zam still gone, would Shadow Ball do enough to Machamp? he still had a good amount of HP left.

I guess. Just let me get prepared.

He had about 3/4 left, right? I don't know your spread but I think I could've pulled it off.
The memories already hazy, but I'd say he had about 230ish HP left. 252HP EVs and a 22 IV, so plenty of HP. oh, and 10 SpDef EVs with a 23 IV. Soo, I like my odds in that situation, but I'm to lazy to consult a calculator.
I'll add my two little cents about the legendary thing.

This contradicts your previous post. If only you and Blue tend to use OU teams, in other words popular, then assuming it will turn to a legend heavy metagame is unlikely.
I haven't used legendaries competitively since R/B, so I don't have a strong opinion either way, but I always say that variety is good. It's that people are afraid that allowing legendaries will make the metagame unvaried, which I think will not happen here. I mean, I see more Flygons than Salamences here. Come to think of it, where are the little buggers in this tournament?

My trusty Flygon is right by my side. Not in this last fight. (and I could have used him, of course)
But let me say, again?, that I don't mind having legends but if you and I have access to the legends but our opponent (newcomers) don't then I consider that totally unfair and discouraging. and I don't want that obviously.
When someone new comes along they are always given breeding rejects and whatever help they may need to get a well bred team.
Can't do that with legends.
So fuck legends.
People already have access to platinum move tutors and I don't mind. When is Platinum getting released anyway?

Fair enough then, had I not fucked up with FB I would be bitching right now about not choosing to use Psychic.

Looks like me and Reynolds for the bottom two spots. I really need to grind out another team- maybe make something that could, oh, I don't know, WIN? :P Oh well. At least there's no Dunsparce waiting for me if I lose again.
But I somehow forgot you packed Flash Cannon, I was expecting a Hidden Power.
