Okay, that last panel of USM really *is* creepy as hell.
Stuff I liked, from last week's comics as well as this week since I got both weeks worth today.
Captain Britain: Pete Wisdom proving he is the real Pete Wisdom to Captain Midlands.
"You used to take the bus to MI13. You're the only super soldier I know who complains about their piles. You collect decorative spoons. You always thought I was a complete tosser. And the feeling is mutual."
Also, the final panel.
MEGGAN!!!
Birds of Prey. The bit at the end
...when the Joker suddenly remembers that the feisty redhead in the wheelchair he met the night before is Jim Gordon's daughter, and gleefully drives off to find her.
Daredevil: I rarely mention it, but I love the art in this comic. I absolutely loved the page in this latest one where Iron Fist is fighting several of The Hand. I don't have scans and it's hard to describe, but the fight takes place at night, so almost everyone is in shadow, but Danny's fists and chest tattoo are blazing brightly in the dark. It looks amazing, and it's such a kickass idea.
Captain America: I never thought I'd say this, but Batroc Ze Leaper is freaking awesome! I also think him speaking French throughout the comic was a nice touch.
Secret Invasion:
paraphrased
Spidey: "No, we're okay! If anything really awful were going to happen then The Watcher would show up!" *The Watcher shows up*
Spidey: "Well, crap."
Yes it was lame as hell, but it still made me smile so I'm letting it go. Also, see previous page re: Ronin being awesome and getting back to his Hawkeye roots.
Yeah, that really came out of nowhere. Especially since it was only mentioned once or twice in all of New Excalibur, seemed like it had been forgotten.

Well, the January Solicits imply that it's not just for this story, so that would be great.
Also, regarding Spitfire:
Did she just feed from Blade? Or did Blade just really, really want to be right about her?
Oh yeah, moment of the weak. Blue Beetle was sold out before I got to my LCS. Which I guess is great for the comic and all but goddammit I want a copy!
When she was talking to Klara about Jurassic Park and being the 2nd Raptors...good stuff. Also picking up Chase and carrying him into the meeting after threatening him with that exact thing.
I also really liked Victor figuring out the unintended consequences of Nico's spell. It's fun to see the staff's power explored a bit more. I hope we see more of this in future issues.

stop changing your avatar, its messing with my head.
I think it was Mark Waid and.. someone else relatively high profile (Busiek? Johns?) that talked about wanting to do a Ghost Detectives book, and getting shot down by DC Editorial. With any of them, and a good art team, I think it could have done well. I mean, look at Booster Gold. It's been incredibly consistent in terms of sales, even with DC's decision to do four issues of filler between the Johns/Katz run and the Jurgens run.
Unfortunately, I feel like DC has already squandered any excitement or fan interest in a Ghost Detectives book, having waited too long since Identity Crisis and 52. I mean, look at The All-New Atom. So yeah, it'd probably fail now, but I think that, if DC could have pulled their collective heads out of their asses and learned to use the momentum and interest generated by their event books to launch ongoings, a book like Ghost Detectives could have done well.
Or Hell, maybe a bunch of people would have ranted and screamed about how they'd never read an Elongated Man book where his stretchiness was derived from his ectoplasmic state, rather than Gingold. Who knows?
Anti MOTW - X-Factors Art (Yes I know its been this bad for a few months) Why is the art so bad in X-Factor? I didn't think I'd ever drop a book as long as it had a good story, but wow, I'm seriously about to get there with X-Factor. The art is just so horrendously bad.

Different artist starting next month, so dropping it now probably not a good idea
Personally, I think the Dibney's are extremely boring characters, and I can't say the prospect of them starring in some ghost detective book excites me.

Also you are correct exploring the staff is cool
On the other hand, the av in question being Traci 13 makes everything all right.
I have a low boredom threshold when it comes to my av/sig combos. I tend to change it as soon as I see something and think "Oooh! That would look good!"
I change mine generally if it'll be a good gag (for example when a bunch of us copied thetheroo's avatar for a day over in in CF), but I'm keeping the Phonogram one at least until the next issue comes out.

Yeah, I'm noticing that. It was just jarring at first because we were talking and then all the sudden someone "new" comes in and picks up points and I was just confused.
Probably time for me to change sigs as well but I have nothing interesting.

Ralph and Sue could team up with the Dead Boy Detectives.
[edit] Oh Bale, why must you taunt me thus. Mark Verheiden could write it. He did a bang up job with the Halloween short.
How many characters could that tag team kill off in the first six issues?

Oh, man! You beat me to it!
Nothing else even comes close.
Yeah, her and Klara make a cute duo.

Vote no on Prop 8!
And the cast was pretty entertaining, but I still think the Majesdians are lame.

Flash Fact.
Why doggies?
Why are the dogs not even like, scary dogs? They're just big puppies.

Which is clearly the worst kind.
"And this is his sofa, is it?" said Arthur.
And she was a Major in this issue.
Yeah, I don't know why I thought Captain.
because according to that picture she should not have an arm left after that.
