Do you have HL2 and EP1? No? Would you like them?

So here I am, months after the Orange Box release, and still holding on to my extra games.
Since my friends either own them or are mongrel idiots, and months of having the offer in my sig have failed, the first person to post their steam ID gets them.
Seriously.

Will have to wait until I get home from uni, though. :p

    Shit ummm, I don't have Steam yet cause I've never felt I had the cash to get those games. But I totally want those...

    It should be fine with it. I upgraded it last summer. So I've got 3G RAM, a dual core CPU and a Radeon 9550 now. It's way better than my old comp which could run Oblivion kind of on low settings.

    Is it possible to get a Steam account before DLing the software? So I don't have to put it on my work computer? I'm just asking, cause I may not have a chance for a few hours when I get home.

    Nah you need the software in order to set up an account I'm afraid.

    It's pretty quick and painless.

    Bonus point: Once you've got a Source game, you can make use of the HL2 mods being hosted on Steam.

    I still have an extra copy of HL2 & ep1 available to gift. One lucky individual who pms me with their email address gets them. :)

    In other news, Ep1 is crashing because of a memory bug. It spits numbers that look like #v###### 'memory could not be read', usually accompanied by looping sound. What gives, guys?

    My new super PC is being delivered next Wednesday (splashing out first time in a long time for my birthday :D) and i really want to try the whole HL2 saga. Been out of the PC scene for a long time though and have no idea how Steam or this extra copies thing works :P Anyone fill me in?

    The way it works is...

    If you bought HL2 and Episode 1 when they first came out, you had them when you bought The Orange Box, which was the original way to get Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. So, instead of just letting those "extras" go to waste, Valve set it up that those who had them previously got "Gifts" of them. They could basically send an authorization to another person that would give them those games. In this way, you can give electronically the games HL2 and EP1.

    It really was an electronic version of "First one's free..."
