PC game, came up multiple 3.5 floppy discs, kids game, I think there was a giant white rabbit on the cover (or something equally as neat), I think it was an early sandbox game, and I think it was published by Maxim, Majestic, or something similar in name.

It would be easier if you had a list of things you considered equally as neat as giant white rabbits.

Jumping Flash! for the PS1 is about as close as I can get.

Played the shit out of the demo that came with the XGames Racing Game that came out at launch.

I dunno, The Manhole? Game wasn't a "sandbox" in the modern sense more than it was Myst-lite for kids.

(As an aside, I love how the 1989 floppy version of the game says "5 1/4' Disks included. Not Copy Protected" right on the front of the box. Heh. Time's changed.)

Not exactly a floppy game. It is out on the PSN network, though, so you can play it again. It's still cool.

OP: Any gameplay details except for the sandboxy element? That cover description could apply to a lot of games. Also, specifically a game published for kids, or just one suitable for kids too?

That's all I can think of when you say white rabbit, even though I know it's wrong.

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
