Macbook pro screen problems...assistance required!

I spilled gamsol (which is like turpenoid subsitute used in oil painting) on my macbook pro's keyboard and wiped it away immediately but now there's a streak on my screen brighter than the rest of it. It dims when the rest of the screen dims but only proportionally. I am freaking out because this is a laptop I spent a lot of money on and I really cannot afford whatever exorbitant rice apple is going to charge me to look at it (i don't have apple care).

When I press on the screen the bright spot recedes and disappears for a few seconds, as though the gamsol was trapped in there. I really need help on getting tou out if it is without damaging my laptop in any way. Please, help!

    I'm just a littl confused. You spilled something on your keyboard and now it's trapped on your screen?

    Yea, I know. but since the bright streak appeared only after the spillage I can only assume that it's a direct result. It may have seeped through to the interior of the laptop through the speakers, or something. Even if it isn't in my screen it's definitely fucking with it somehow.

    Gamsol also evaporates very, very quickly, and the fact that this has been here for around 3 hours is worrying.

    Shit, it's spreading. If I bought my laptop in August, am I still covered under the warranty? I just made an appointment with the Genius Bar on Saturday at my local Apple Store, but I would really really like to know how to fix this on my own because this is a huge fuck up on my schedule.

    Well, the bad news is I've used similar stuff to clean a circuit board after de-soldering. It kind of dissolves plastics. You may be well and truly fucked unless it heals its self when it completely evaporates.

    The warranty doesn't cover any accidents, even with AppleCare. If you have AppleCare and a mean pout they will take care of most things within reason (like when I dropped the laptop, fully admitted that this was how the hinge broke and the genius told me of a certified apple specialist who could take care of it under warranty). When I say within reason, I mean things that are quick and easy to fix so they take care of it to retain you. Depending on how badly you messed up the laptop, this could be expensive to fix. The upside, when they send it to the repair depot for things that are not under warranty they tend to quote $400 to take care of everything. At least this is what my local super genius told me.

    I definitely know what you're feeling. Just be really nice to the genius and don't lie, and they'll do their best to help you out.
