i went to my friend's place over the weekend and asked if he and his girlfriend had seen burn after reading
"ugh, that movie sucked" (they both thought)
"wow, you guys sure have different opinions than me of what is a good movie"
"what, that we like good movies and you don't?"
i wanted to kick her in the face, but i am far too polite for that
I am also one of the terrible Kung Pow lovers. To the extent that when I first saw Kung Fu Hustle and found out it wasn't at all like Kung Pow, I hated it. I have since learned the error of my ways, as Kung Fu Hustle is a fuck awesome movie.
oh yeah i can see that, too, and i wasn't like wow you guys suck at liking good movies
i just thought that they have different standards as to what makes a good movie to them
and then she pulls that line and i'm thinkin, "man i was trying to be polite about this!"
also they did not like brick
I can put up with feeling differently about Burn After Reading. It's a different kind of humor than what most people hold.
but then you had to tell me that they didn't like brick and now I have a knife in my hand.
brick is even more different than most movie
it's modern pulp noir set in a high school with outrageous dialog
I mean I loved it
but uh
Oh man that dialogue. I fucking loved hearing people talk in that movie.
It really is the best. I remember seeing the back cover and thinking "ow wow the guy from Third Rock this movie will blooooooow." And then from the first minute onward I was completely into the whole story.
