Thread for the song playlist for the last ep, Hell March is at 46:58 - 47:16 if you want to skip to it.
(Thanks for D&D for bringing that forum to my attention, the song listing thing is awesome since Top Gear usually has a lot of really good music; I finally have the music that plays when the Eurofighter and Veyron took off in the drag race thanks to it [I Am Home - Massive Attack if you were wondering]).

And, screw you, State Department! There are many serious, factual foreign documentaries involving dead cows on car roofs that you are stifling because if your backwards visa policies.

Also I was behind an orange Challenger going across the Golden Gate in that direction a few weeks ago, only one I've actually seen in the wild...I'd like to believe that it was Hammond in there, but it was probably filmed months ago, so there goes my dreams for an incredibly obscure 4th hand brush with fame.

EDIT: Also after that episode I sort of want a Challenger, even though it was easily the worst of those cars and the gas mileage is absolutely appalling...I just wonder how much extra I would have to pay to get one that needs a friggin' key to start it.

I can't believe they complimented American cars.

Yeah, but Jeremy seems to have warmed up to Corvettes in particular over the last few seasons as they get more and more powerful, expensive and ridiculous, and Hamster always likes muscle cars, and May likes Cadillacs generally. I wish they had traded cars for awhile to see what they're like when they're not right up their alley so to speak (although you kind of get that with the first half when May was horrified that his Cadillac wasn't Cadalliacish enough.)

Also that glass on the hood of the ZR1 is really really silly and I can't decide whether to love it or hate it for its goofiness.

(Speaking of Corvettes, does anyone know how much it would cost to get a 72-73 vette (possibly the prettiest car ever) and then rip out all the internals and functional mechanical parts and replace them with modern components, so it's actually good in a non-nostalgia type way? There was a Top Gear ep where it showed companies that did the same sort of thing for old Astons and Jaguars, but that's a little pricey.)

I want to do the same with an old 60s Mustang. I waited so long for the new one and it looks like utter shit. Seriously, every Mustang that isn't in the classic style looks like a steamy swirly.

I would also kill a man for a GT.

You know what car is amazing?

    http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2007/03/aircar_450x338.jpg

THE AIR CAR coming near you in year 2,009.

106 miles per gallon it runs off a drop of gasoline and can technically drive 1,000 miles without using any gas if you maintain your speed below 30 mp.

This car compresses air into its engine when you go home and plug it in the wall then uses the compress air as its gasoline its 100% pollution free and can drive up to 90 mph with the aid of gasoline (hence 106 miles per gallon). And it can seat 4-6 people

All this and it only cost 20,000 most expensive for a new one because there so cheap and affordable to make.

I once was working on a student film and somehow the director/producer happened to know a kid whose dad was some Ford bigwig and had a GT40, and somehow roped him into using it for the movie.

Damn is it a gorgeous car, I was scared to touch it it's so cool looking. But I was even more scared doing a shot where the car had to skid to a halt right in front of the camera, which I was standing behind- in a normal car with normal brakes we'd probably all have been killed if they tried to stop in the distance it did it in.

EDIT: Also I agree on the Mustang, when I was growing up in the 80's I didn't even know the Mustang was supposed to be cool, because of how horrid the 80's model was, I thought it was just another piece of shit box of a car.

Hippy sounding or not this car basically runs off the giggles of school children, Fart gases from unicorns. + a engine that compresses the giggles and gases into itself.

Last I heard about these they were still trying to figure out how to make them not be bombs on wheels.

I read about that, it was a issue with hybrid cars and the air car actually solved the issue. Because the engine runs off compressed air, not hydrogen or whatever it is those hybrid cars run off which is exceptionally flammable, when the car crashes the engine Cracks but does not explode into shrapnel. Since oxygen is not flammable the engine does not burst basically it just puffs out.

And if you just want to win the rich dude cock-waggling competition nothing beats a Veyron*, even if who knows if it can actually turn and that SSC Ultimate Arrow thing is technically faster.

(* Or a Reventon. But if you have either you'd probably not be stupid enough to actually drive one around in the first place, except at your private track fully enclosed with Nerf foam sidewalls.)

I've seen a DeLorean driving around here a few times, and it always takes me a few seconds to recognize what it is without the BTTF junk on it. I don't know why they didn't just start selling them with that stuff on it as standard, it looks a lot better with it.

Same goes to a certain extent for Bentleys on the rare occasions that I see them driving around- from the back, the only way I can tell it's not a Chrysler 300 is by checking to see how long the wings on the logo are.

Again, these are gestures, and i'd bet that those are either 30 second to a full minute on each one.

That's what the energy in the body looks like when it's successfully realized on paper. I've been doing these for months now and it's absolute murder on your hands. There are days where you can go through hordes of newsprint and get nothing close to that, then other days where you're knocking them out of the park.

It's so frustrating most of the time, but well worth it.

@godfather: I know they're gestures, but that's partly why i'm so stricken with them... the don't look at all like any of the ones i've seen before and yet, they look so much more defined- (but like I said, really stylized which could be bad later on since its more or less forcing you into that style) Still... I wish I could do that.

I wish I had a srs business mode I'm usually in 20% aware of being existing mode or when I have to concentrate I go into partially confused mode.

Which really does not help me when i'm on a bus that has jamming halts and i'm carrying a 20 pound portfolio. So today I was spacing out on the bus (with my finished stuff inside the portfolio) and I wasn't think so I stand up since the bus was stopping and it jams the breaks so my portfolio does a flip and thorws off my balance. The first thing I was thinking of then was "NOOOO MY PORTFOLIO" so instead of doing a natural instinct and grabbing something I punch my portfolio to safety then flew face first about 5 feet to my left side into the bus floor and my supply box skids across the ground.

This afternoon i cleaned out my bedroom and found a whole heap of printed pictures that i would look at for inspiration when doing assignments for uni. I cut a few out and have decided to make a collage of images on my bedroom wall. That way when im looking at my work, thinking how shit it is, i can turn around look at the wall and slap myself across the head, get back to work and think "that's where i want to one day".

    Here it is so far...

Re. Maiden artwork... Years ago when my old band did its first tour we played in a venue that had some of the original album art framed on the wall (I think it was from Somewhere in Time) which was pretty awesome.

There was also a framed photo from a punk gig at the same venue a couple of years prior, and I was shocked to noticed ME clearly noticable in the crowd, giving the band the finger.

On that same tour, another venue had some framed Jamie Hewlett / Tank Girl originals on the wall, which was also pretty awesome.

Ah.... this old time does go on sometimes.

Ah, it wasn't the finished painting, it was the pencils and a bunch of preliminary work -- some parts were coloured though, just with copic markers iirc.

They were decent sized though, about 2 or 3 times bigger than the LP cover.
