(Vendal looked over, and noticed the "mandatory expulsion sheet" that Micro the bartender posted at the end of the bar. It was covered with scratched-off tick marks, denoting the patrons' votes for who should be removed from the bar.
Forever.
The very notion weighed heavy on Vendal's heart: would his peers, who he had grown old with and spent many nights of entertainment at the pub, be here still at the end of this? Would he still be here? The thought of not having this Pub to console him in his retirement made his heart heavy with sadness. But even if he wasn't removed himself, his friends could be... and then the pub wouldn't be the same anyways.
As worry gripped him, he silently motioned for another pint as he looked down at the card game in progress.)
As the three wheels spun and the cheerful melody played, bwanie's mind started to wander. His attention straying farther from the symbols that lined up in front of him with each penny offered to the machine.
What Micro had said about the new rules bothered him greatly.
Sure there were other pubs out there, but he preferred to come here. For some reason the machine had taken a shine to him and there was not a single night that he did not leave with a slightly heavier wallet weighing down his coat.
These under aged kids were a liability to his profits, his livelihood even! He berated himself for not paying more attention to the other customers since he started frequenting Ye Olde Fox.
He'd have to start taking in his surroundings a bit more. Already some of the more social barflies were pointing to his character and he was damned if he was going to let them cut him off from the ever flowing stream of coins that had been keeping him afloat.
Cricket? You can't play cricket in a pub you daft fool! Calm yerself down now, why not have a pint?
"Your knowledge on bargames is lacking" said bwanie as he closed the fifteen. With this dart he destroyed the last oppurtunity for his opponent to score points. He now had a plethora of arrows left for the bull and was going to take his time. His opponent, realising his defeat, gave him a dirty look and threw a crumbled tenner on the counter.
"This socializing is actually kind of fun. Not to mention profitable." bwanie thought to himself.
'eh, did someone say Cricket 'en? Bwanie, you ol' devil you. Stop 'arrassin' those rowdy schoolboys wit' yer dartboard hustling. Come sit o'er 'ere, 'ave a pint. Those little miscreants'll be kicked out soon enough anyways.
