and then they released netflix instant-watch capability for the 360 and fuuuuuck yeah I'm never getting cable again WOOOOOOOOOOOO
I stopped getting cable a while ago. Hulu's pretty good, though I imagine not as good as this Netflix instant-watch thing. I just noticed that basically there's barely ever anything good on. I'm following Always Sunny and The Office pretty much weekly and sometimes an episode of The Daily Show or The Colbert Report, maybe even the occasional Adult Swim rerun. But that's really not that much. We're talking about probably 90 minutes a week at most, and that's only when Always Sunny and The Office are producing new episodes.

That's pretty much my show following, except throw some 30 rock in there
I tried some Arrested Development, and I kinda liked it, but sometimes excessively uncomfortable stuff is just unwatchable to me. I had a similar problem with Extras, there were just some scenes that were so brutal I couldn't watch them.

Oh man this happens to me
I have to pause it (or put the book down) and do something else for a while
I've seen a couple of episodes, and the conversations with the stars are really good. The rest of the show, though, is... completely dull and uninteresting.

I think this was my issue with it, too. It was funny, but too embarrassing-funny.
the most painful episode of extras was the one with sir ian mckellan and his play and gervais having to play a gay guy and having his old high school buddies come and god, i could not watch that episode the whole way through
Gervais and Merchant write some of the greatest excrutiating scenes I've ever cringed through. It's like they have been through or can imagine every painfully embarrassing situation imaginable.

Have you ever seen the bit where him and a girl are walking on the street and there's this homeless dude sitting there? It ends up being he only has like a 20 or something, gives it to the guy but then comes back and asks for it back or some shit... it was awesomely awkward.

You know, like when someone's interested in the same sex, the opposite sex and trouser sex.
What?
