You know i was wondering about that... you bring up a good point

The main toon i leveled up for Wotlk was alchemy/tailoring so i wasnt exposed to the gathering craze and chose not to advance my professions because of the astronomical costs associated with it

Because of this, the 2nd toon ive been running up with is Herbalism Enchanting. Let me just say wow. The prices im getting on my server for the trade goods are insane. Cloth is selling for 42g a stack, herbs for 2-4g each, enchanting dust for 6-8g each and essences are going for 36g.

At this point, im content with just selling everything i pick up for a month then leveling up my professions when everything is 1/4th the price.

Because of this, has anyone looked seriously at the craftable epic items? I know we are in the early stages of the expansion so once we get rolling everyone will be epic, but this time price inflation seems to be limiting those options more than usual.

There is no free pvp gear, craftable items are WAY too expensive to advance the professions, and epic drops arent exactly itemizing too kindly atm.

I dunno just an extended observation

I have no sympathy people complaining about the usefulness of their trade skill

    Tailor/Enchanter D:

Yeah being an enchanter must suck, what with being able to sell the stuff you gather on the AH with zero deposit, and every class in the game ultimately needing your services.

Also being a tailor was mega baddass in TBC.

I dropped 3400g last night on the mats for a Titansteel Shanker. Titansteel bars and Frozen Orbs are going for ~500g on my server at the moment and I'm sure those will come down drastically with time, but, eh. I had 30k and nothing to spend it on (that I wanted). At least this will see a good bit of use.

While this is true, levelling enchanting atm is a hellish experience either requiring everyone and his brother sending you greens to de or watching the numbers not go up after using up a ridiculous amount of mats. It'll pay off later on but ohgod the expense atm D:

Leveling most crafting professions is extremely expensive, especially right now. Again, no sympathy for enchanting. Especially now that they can sell enchants on the AH, which was the biggest legitimate gripe that they had.

I also do not understand why there is still no deposit on enchanting mats at the AH.

Well, we still have to go through Inscription players to get our stuff up there, which kind of makes it useless as it stands. Vellum III is still expensive enough that people can just go to an enchanter in person to get it done cheaper with tips.

Tailoring was awesome in TBC. Maybe I am just spoiled from that, but the new craftables leave something to be desired and are not even BOP.

It's not hard to get to the caverns if you just get down to booty bay, i ran the route today without meeting a single horde.

And if you're in your mid-20s, getting through Stranglethorn is kind of trouble.

Swimming would be my preferred method if lower than 25 or so. You should be able to avoid most of the deadly aquatic mobs.

the days of horde roaming the barrens looking for lost locks and die-hard RFD groups to slaughter has passed. If you stay off the road from Ratchet-xroads, all you'll run into is a lone lowbie or the occasional lore-master quester, who probably has better things to do then try and gank a group running to WC.

Recently, I tried to run a level 11 alliance char to BB while helping a horde guildie get pets for the pet achievement. She must fail escort quests a lot, because I died about 5 times, despite the escort. So that part of the voyage is gonna be a pain.

I got through with only 1 death at 21, 750HP unbuffed so i was able to outrun most of the mobs along the road.

Is there any cost aside from inconvenience/time corpse hopping to Stocks as Horde or Ragefire as Alliance, provided you keep your armor and weapons unequipped until you're inside? I was thinking I might want to do that soon.

I'm soloing a lot of the low level instances to see them (Gnomer in 20-30 minutes, but I didn't know where I was going).

Stockades is great for tailors. Also there's a nice ring for rogues/druids/hunters that drops from trash.

I'd argue Wailing Caverns is the worst instance, being far too long for the rewards as well as being an absolute maze. Even BRD you don't have to run all in one sitting.

Well, the really bad reasons for why it was the worst for so long, are gone as of 3.0 I think. It was pretty heavily nerfed.

But I guess you could still say it sucks because it only has two bosses.

That giant snake was beating his ass until I stepped in and saved him. In fact I had to do it twice, because the first time I was getting beat on by the snake AND the trolls that spawned there. I tried to just leave it to him the second time and he nearly died.

Bah, Sunken Temple is FAR worse and, I would argue, by far the worst in the game. It's long, it's all trash, it's in the middle of nowhere and the drops aren't even that good.
