Or you could go with the simple solution which is, you know, he bought it.
I wanted to make a fancy sentence. Even then, a rogue with that OH should have a better MH. Unless the person who bought the account decided to replace whatever MH they had with the s1 pretty purple puncturer. I'm more willing to blame raid shenanigans, because the majority of raids are run, at least in part, by idiots.
this is late, but a rogue with a glaive offhand and a s1 mainhand could simply have been an alt, running in a late post 3.0 BT run (many alts were taken to such runs because it was so easy) and he may have been the only rogue/warrior in the raid without one
Can I solo BRD with an 80 Frost Mage? I never dont Vanilla content hell even BC. I never was into the raid part of WoW but with LK making me same field as the raiders I want to learn the old content.
Yes
I did the pit fight part of the .05 armor quests with my brother's mage and me in brd
I could solo brd on my rogue at level 60
So the 25thNovember folks have called themselves Ensidia. Also their crying over WotLK being too easy is yet to cease.
They said that on the 13th of November our definition of epic will be shattered.
True. On the 15th of November it lay at our feet, broken.
Malygos the Spellweaver, guardian of magic in all Azeroth, said to possess power rivaling that of a demigod, was taken down in gear obtained at level 70. Sartharion and Naxx were cleared with a group of 20 people at its first half - the type of thing that would happen when guilds did Onyxia for kicks, back in vanilla.
If this trend persists it could be the Fail of the Lich King.
Weren't these guys testing the content before it was released?
Yes, they were. I wish they would shut the fuck up.
So.. I just got three stacks of Saronite bars to put on the AH, and a Titansteel Bar. Only 3000 gold to go.
:?
I admit, if BRD were sectioned like SM, it would be awesome. It's design as it stands, is fucking horrible and you should all feel bad for defending it.
Speaking about SM...
Wasnt there a plan to make SM one big instance and get rid of the 4 portals? I remember seein a video of that back when Wrath was in beta. Any idea what happened to that?

Those guys can go fuck themselves with a rubber hose. They can come crying when they have cleared all the jazz in their achievement panels for raiding if they want a challenge that bad.
And yes, these are the same guys that beta-tested the content and had already cleared it months ago (in some cases, years ago)

I guess I don't see the point. It's dead content, and everyone liked the partitioned version just fine anyway.

The only way they couldn't have passed it real easily is if the bosses had just been plain broken or if Blizzard upped the hp or how hard they hit by some artificial and ridiculous amount.
And if I had played these same encounters for months I should find it pretty fucking easy, too.
And I'm using a good ole' 60% speed flying mount. It sucks. So much. How the hell do I get like 4 thousand more gold for epic flying? I still have some of Grizzly left and the Basin, Zul'Drak, Storm Peaks and Icecrown left fully. If I hit 80 and finished up those zones, would that be enough to get me the needed gold? Or, is there any other way to get gold fairly easily? My only profession is engineering and I have no real alts to turn to.

Actually I think the original plan was to make SM one big instance, but then they realized how long it would take so they split it up.
BRD would make a great zone. But it makes a shitty instance. It's just simply too big to work as an instance. While it has some cool elements, it also leads to 4 or 5 hour groupings. Which for a five man instance is just retarded.
Thank god, at least one person is backing me up here.
Pretty awesome questrewards though, like that 75s for teh 3-hour run at the vault (additional cost for buying keys at AH not included).
So I haven't played WoW in over a year, but a lack of friends and general things to do is making me consider getting back in. Three questions.
1. Someone told me at PAX that Blizzard fixed the glitches that let you climb walls, both the direct jumping method and the side jumping method. Is this true?
2. Levelling to 70 was pretty awesome because I had a flying mount to look forward to. I look forward the most to rewards that translate in increased ability to move through the world. Is there anything even remotely as cool as being able to fly that you get from level 80?
3. Are rogues still as worthless and unloved as they were 18 months ago, or is it possible to find more than one instance run a week as a rogue now?

1. yes, it was fixed a LONG time ago. There's places where you can do it, but thats due to unintentional ability to scale the terrain and not a glitch.
2. You get flying again at 77 (70-77 you cannot fly, so as to not to be able to just skip all the content). There isn't so much huge benefits as 80 as once you are 80, you can do stuff that you couldnt do at level cap previously without effort. Heroic instances no longer require attunements, as with raids, you just have to be level 80. Gear/skill is the only barrier to completing them.
3. Our sole rogue is putting out very low damage, but he is Mutilate swords, he does about 1.3k DPS on bosses at 80. For comparison, our boomkin does 2.2 and our affliction warlock does about 2.6. I don't know anything more about rogues.

Well no wonder the Rogue is putting out low damage since you can't use Mutilate with swords.
' Go to Start then Run and type the word "cmd" (without quotation marks) in the Run box. A DOS window should open on screen.
- Type: "ipconfig /release" (without quotation marks) in the DOS window.
- Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been released.
- Type: "ipconfig /renew" (without quotation marks) in the DOS window.
- Wait a few seconds for a reply that the IP address has been re-established.
- Type: "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotation marks) in the DOS window.
- Close the DOS window and attempt to make a connection.

Alternatively, going to Control Panel - Network Connections, then right-clicking on your connection and selecting "Repair" will do the same thing. Assuming you're running XP.

I beg to differ. The quest in Howling Fjord where you get to jump off a stupidly high cliff with a 3min slowfall buff while mounted is the best thing ever.

I didn't notice the slowfall thing, so I fell off in a completely wrong direction.
Then I noticed that I was slowly sailing straight at that alliance base.
I landed in front of a very surprised gnome warlock.

Back to the topic of BRD, which I was interrupted by work. Its a real dungeon, like you would find in a real RPG. It seems thats what they were trying to do with many of the original dungeons. Some succeeded, some failed.
I miss the good ones, and don't miss the bad ones. And the 45 minute gear farms on wotlk are certainly better than the same thing with 5x as much trash.
I do agree that a lot of instances are very easy, a lot of people in my guild hit 80 and cleared several the same day. The only ones I thought were even remotely challenging was Halls of Lightning, but once we gear up it'll be trivial as well.
Old Kingdom was fun, but our mage was super pissed at the Faceless boss because he couldn't handle insanity with his spec, and he knew a respec would make it super easy, he eventually did, and proceeded to rape it.

I had so much trouble on my insanity phases on my last run. I'm feral, I should be able to nuke down our damn disc priest, but he kept getting off greater heals that healed him to full all the damn time. And then there was some mysterious HoT that kept topping everyone off.
I ended up with the other guys finishing theirs and helping me out.

I agree with you that it Brd is like a D&D dungeon of old in it's leangth
With the quick and dirty dungeons like Azjol'Neub it's not that fun as it seems
BRD is actually my favorite old world dungeon. The thing you have to do in BRD, is take the lead, and set clear goals. We're here to do X and Y. If that is done, we will look on. The loot sort of sucked apart from Emperor though, and the Fire elemental pull before the bar used to be brutal.
That being said, the amount of doorjump runs I did for silly plate +FR bracers got annoying, as did vault runs for enchants.
During TBC, I lead a full clear of BRD on my prot paladin in 2h50mins. And that's for 22 (!) Blue drops. It was such an epic thing.

And now for another episode of, "The Backpedaling"
Dual Talent specialization
We don't have an ETA. We would love to get it in for 3.1 but if I said it will be in 3.1 and it isn't, then players get mad. It's easier if we just say "soon."
Eeeeexcept they said at blizzcon that it would be in "the first major content patch", which just happens to be (by the devs' own account) 3.1, the Ulduar patch.
So maybe it'll be then, maybe it won't. They're probably covering their asses in a "just in case it doesn't make it in" scenario, but it's interesting that it went from a relatively sure thing to a "maybe" thing since Blizzcon.
It's called "They know their player base". Never commit to anything, or the WoW players will throw it back in your face over and over and over and over and over again.

Oh I know, it's just that usually when they've been "sure" about something happening, they phrase it like "it's currently slated to be introduced in patch x.x, barring any unforeseen difficulties". This one's phrased a bit differently than their standard "yes we're planning to introduce it then" statement. It just sounds like they're less sure that they're going to implement it then.
But yeah, to your point, they get eaten alive when they don't deliver on promises. Take the "new dances" feature. Advertised with the xpac, never made it in and now
New dances
New dances are something we would still like to add. However, we will not add dances until we feel that they meet with our highest standards. So these are something we can look forward to down the road, not in the near future.
