Man I really wanna see the cthulhu episode.

I remember the one where stay puft is a good guy though. You walks in a parade and some manta ray ghost piggy backs on the dude to get out.

Also I remember seeing the cartoon first and being all confused at the movie when slimer wasnt a good guy.

I was convinced for the longest time the MOVIE was based on the CARTOON.

In the cartoon continuity, the first movie is actually a dramatization of their beginnings as Ghostbusters and their fight with Gozer. There's an episode where they go to Hollywood to visit the set.

That might have had something to do with screwing me up timeline wise.

The first time I saw the movie, I was amazed that they found someone who actually looked like Egon.

My stepdad thought that was one of the dumbest things ever, and quickly set me straight.

I loved when the original team appeared on The Extreme Ghostbusters.

The four of them get back after reliving some of their glory days, hunting down a new Ghost, and Garret (Who always gets the cheesiest lines) starts grumbling about Peter using a stupid catch phrase.

    Fuck YOU Thanatos.

Extreme Ghostbusters was an excellent cartoon, as was Men In Black the series. Anyone who says otherwise probably never even watched the fucking thing and is just trying to put it down because the only exposure they had to it was through commercials or the occasional still image showing that they have a girl and a guy in a wheelchair in the show so it's obviously stupid.

I watched two episodes of it, and both episodes were abysmal.

Never watched the MiB cartoon, so I can't really comment on it.

I watched the episodes on demand with my ex-roomie and the first thing she had to say about it is to complain about the continuity. Then she got over it because it's a great show.

Extreme Ghostbusters was too politically correct

By the argument that XGB is a bad show because it has a cast that fits most societal groups (latino, female, black and differently-abled person) then you would have to apply this to other shows as well.

    Justice League comes to mind.

Basically what I am saying is that my big "fuck you" still stands.

Required viewing to have a valid opinion of this show is the following:

    Darkness at Noon part 1
    Darkness at Noon part 2
Back in the Saddle part 1
Back in the Saddle part 2
Back in the Saddle part 3

    and the optional episode: Grease
"The XGBs must combat a mischievous gremlin, all the while under the watchful eye of two government agents who see the Ghostbusters as criminals."

This government agents in this episode are parodies of Jay and Kay from MIB except the wise-cracking rookie is white while the sober, dry elder is black.

Extreme Ghostbusters was created much more in-step with the earlier seasons of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon and hence has the same humorous romantic tension between Egon and Janine, a lot more literary references and monsters that are a lot creepier and more demonic in nature than the cartoony ghosts who showed up in the later episodes of RGB.

All Real Ghostbusters fans should also check out the episode "Grundelesque", which ties directly into the episode featuring the Grundle in the original series.
"The Grundel appears to be hunting after children again, but when Egon reveals that the Original Ghostbusters captured the Grundel years ago, Kylie realises that the new Grundel is actually connected to her long-lost childhood best friend."

That episode is super-creepy when you realize this poor kid's been abducted and transformed into a hideous child-eating monster for the last decade and a half.

I love that bass guitar sound they use.

It works so well, I like the cool and composed minimalist style they ran with for the visuals.

Listen, all I'm saying is that when you actually watch the show the fact that they made Garret a paraplegic has zero impact on the quality of the show itself. In fact they make jokes about it pretty often. The character is a lot like Joe in Family Guy. Over-developed upper-body and overbearing personality to make up for the fact he can't feel anything below his waist.

In one episode they're chasing a creature in Queens and it disappears into some trees up a hill. Garret is making fun of Eduardo for not keeping up when he hits the grass hill which slows him to a crawl. Eduardo laughs at him and runs by only to be hit with a side cramp because he's out of shape.

They've also done a "I can't feel my legs" joke.
