Last night I ran into the "Lich Slap" guild. Fine, no big deal.

The name was horrendous, though: Apclypse.

About a half hour later in Borean Tundra... "Apacolypsi" was recruiting more members for Lich Slap.

I made it a duty to hunt him down and /facepalm

I have a bank alt with a guild name of <Epic Weapon Vendor> -- been done plenty of times before but I still get people trying to click on me when I go for a walk in IF sometimes.

Or just saw the name somewhere and went "lol cool name olol".

Either way, I considered another duke of hell, Marchosias, for my DK, but I ended up with my usual method of having a name beginning with a Z.

Hate: People who have their spec or role as part of their name. Anybody with "tank" or "heals" in your name, this is you. I was ganked repeatedly last night by a BE ret pally named "Retdemon." It was like insult to injury.

After that, I was repeatedly ganked by a BE hunter named "Imgonnakillu." It was a good night.

I like to pick Japanese names. Primarily because they are so rarely taken and sound mystical and shit.

Like Mokushiroku for a warrior class.

    Means armageddon.

    Or Myoujou

    Means the Devil, or Lucifer.

Otherwise I go with the names from characters in creative stories I've written.

Sometimes it's amusing when people pick names that you think represent their class/spec, and they don't.

Like an Ice Tank in CoX called 'Fire Blaster' or an Arms Warrior in WoW named 'Frost Mage'.

Right there with you. I have a hunter named Candiru (Portuguese), a druid named Tiandihui (Chinese), and my current project being a gnome warrior named Kaeru (Japanese) after Frog from Crono Trigger.

The downside to foreign names is people will often assume you're a gold farmer of some type.

    That's kind of racist.

Buuuut, considering most japanese names out there in WoW are modeled after Anime characters, I can't say I entirely blame you.

I do go out of my way to kill the goku's/sephiroths/clouds I see, but not anyone with a japanese name.
