Axis & Allies ( think of it as a complex version of Risk)

I didn't see Clue mentioned; people like that game. If you like Risk, you might like Axis and Allies. Othello and Backgammon are also good, and you can never go wrong with chess. Maybe you want to ask for a poker set.

Edit: shout out to Trivial pursuit.

Clue is a decent game, but, in the name of all that is holy, please, please play it by the actual rules and not some half-arsed house rules that you think will make it more 'fun'. It might not quite get Monopoly-with-house-rules bad but it can ruin a good game.

Currently Ebaying Nothing at all but I might do in the future.

If you don't mind a hospital trip or two after people start killing each other mid way through the game, then I would wholeheartedly recommend http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_The_Boss .

There's also an XBLA adaptation of Ticket to Ride that you could demo to see how it plays. Provided you have access to a 360, of course.
