Ignatieff comes off as a douchebag as well. There's really no one that strikes me as a great future PM that has any legitimate chance of being a contender the next time we have an election.

Maybe Prentice for the Tories. Maybe.

Bullshit man. The only way he has a chance is that he'll have to actually work for spots in the government, instead of being handed one on a platter like his dad.

I had to laugh today listening to one of the local radio stations here in Edmonton where they're having callers give their thoughts on what is happening. The amount of knee-jerk hardcore Conservative supporters was as high as I expected.

"WE DIDN'T VOTE FOR DION! WE VOTED FOR HARPER!"

Mother fucker had the nerve to ask me for money RIGHT BESIDE a McDonald's with a huge HELP WANTED sign behind his fucking head.

That was during the time when things were booming and no one could find employees for all the shitty mcjobs. Like restaurants had to close at lunch a few times because they didn't have enough staff.

Really pisses me off when it looks like some dude my age that is clearly neither mentally ill or all that poor, judging by his clothes.

They can stay at the Salvation Army and use the anonymous phone number there and apply for jobs. There are tons of programs to help out with stuff like that. And during that whole boom there were plenty of employers that would not have given a shit they wanted hands so badly.

Most of the people you see downtown askign for money are actually people already staying in group homes.

The true homeless are the ones that have backpacks and never ask for money and collect bottles and shit. Those guys I like. They say they like doing it because they dont' have to answer to anybody and they can make their own way and I respect that. The fucking creeps wandering around downtown I used to have to deal with all the time, fucking assholes is all their problem is.

    Hooray the system (doesn't) work.

We need proportional representation something fierce. It may not stop this stupidity but it will at least make voting feel worthwhile.

Actually on the whole, a coalition-type government would more accurately reflect the actual voting of the people. First past the post my eye.

Essentially, yes, as flawed as it may sound. Is it any coincidence that when the coalition was announced the TSX dropped like a rock? Even though a prorogued Parliament isn't the best solution, it may stave off any drastic declines for a week or two until we begin to hear more about the budget and economic stimulus plans.

I think it is. Note that everything tanked that day, because everyone found out the US was officially in a recession (surprise!)
