Starbuck dodges by playing 1 Piloting - Evasive Maneuvers, but the viper fires again:
    (1d8 - 2): 8-2 = 6, another hit!
Starbuck's viper is damaged, Starbuck is sent to Sick Bay.

The remaining vipers advance toward the Civilian ships!

A heavy raider launches from the original Basestar!
This last is because I forgot to launch it back on the first crisis. It would have just been sitting there since then, though, staring at you.

    Jump prep advances!

I am at work and do not have the gimp installed here; also, the board I made this morning is no longer correct (since Starbuck got shot down and the heavy raider is in play). So an updated board will have to wait until I get home this afternoon/evening. You get a text board description for now:

    9 o'clock: Basestar A; Heavy Raider A
    11 o'clock: Basestar B
    1 o'clock: Raider A
    3 o'clock: Raider B; Raider C; Civilian Ship A; Civilian Ship B; Civilian Ship C
    5 o'clock: Viper A; Civilian Ship D
    7 o'clock: Viper B; Viper C; Civilian Ship E

Adama plays Tactics 1 - Launch scout. Risk one raptor to roll a die; 3 or higher allows you to look at the top card in either the crisis or destination deck, then put it on the bottom if you so desire.

Any special cards to play before the die roll?

Also, I need to know which deck you'd like to look at. I have a guess, based on your comment above, but I need to know.

Frak it, Starbuck, I thought you were a good pilot.

Cross our fingers and hope to advance the jump prep, I guess. With any luck we can jump away without casualties.

If I get the chance on my turn, I'll head to FTL Control and order a jump. As the ECO Officer I've got a better shot of getting away without losing any population, anyway.

Sounding like no one is wanting to play a card on this die roll, then.

Adama, I still need to know which deck you're scouting in the event that I don't roll a one or a two.

Adama sends out a Raptor to scout out potential jump routes.
(1d8): 8 - Success. The Raptor brings back a report (and Adama draws the top destination card and looks at it).

PMing card now. Crisis will occur upon your decision (put it back on top or bottom of the deck); post your action to the thread.

Listen, old man. You're not the one out there risking your skin for these people. I went 3 on 1 because your chief told me to, and now he's got an extra bird to fix and I've got plasma burns in a very personal area. So I don't want to hear your lectures about my language. Just get Doc to fix me up and those frakkers out there won't stand a chance.

The Admiral likes the report he got from the Raptor and sets it back on the corner of his desk to look at more closely later.

Then he gets some bad news and sends out a message to President Baltar:

    Food Shortage
    President Chooses
    -2 Food
    OR
-1 Food. The President discards 2 skill cards; then the current player discards 3 skill cards.
    (activate raiders)

    President, what is your decision?

The food shortage in the fleet cannot be helped, and two units of food are found to have spoiled. Then, raiders fire on two of the civilian ships while the third raider comes up to join them. Scanning the wreckage, Ship A is found to be carrying 1 population and 1 morale, while Ship C carries another 1 population.

    Adama's turn summary:

I'm going to move to FTL Control and initiate a jump. We might risk one population, but we need the breathing room and it's our greatest resource right now. We'll just be frakked if we stick around and let those basestars tear us apart.

Being the ECO, I have two shots at doing this without population loss.

Lose 1 fuel. The Admiral may risk 1 raptor to roll a die. If 3 or higher, gain 2 fuel. Otherwise, destroy 1 raptor.

Point of Clarification: In each deck of skill cards, there are two types of cards. All the 1-2 cards are one type, and all the 3-5 are another. Each deck contains fourteen 1-2s and seven 3-5s.

Of these two types, one is an "Action:" card; these cards can be played only when you have an action available, but may be played at any location (subject to restrictions on the cards).

The other type of card may be played at any time when it is appropriate, whether it is your turn or not, and whether you have any actions or not. Most of these deal with skill checks:
Investigative Committee is played before a check to force cards to be put in face-up
Scientific Research is played before a check to allow engineering cards to count as positive.
Declare Emergency is played after a check to reduce its difficulty by two
Each of those can be played only once per skill check.
The tactics card, Strategic Planning, can be played before any die roll to increase it by 2. (Obviously, a non-cylon would usually NOT want to play this for Cylon rolls; all rolls succeed at higher numbers.) This can only be played once per roll.
The piloting card, Evasive Maneuvers, can be played after a viper is attacked, allowing a re-roll. As many Evasive Maneuvers as you have can be played on the same attack until you get a result you like.

I encourage you to PM me with circumstances in which you will automatically use your cards, so as to help keep the game moving as quickly as possible. If more than one character would be using the same card at the same time, only the next in action order will make the play.

    1. Standard hand draw.

    3. Activates Jump; plays strategic planning but still -1 population
Adama draws two destination cards and chooses a destination for the first jump.
Arrive at a Tylium planet (Distance 1, -1 fuel)
Admiral Adama spends some time planning the mission (discarding Tactics 3 - Strategic Planning), then sends out a raptor to recove fuel from the Tylium planet.
    (1d8+2) = 8+2 = 10; Success! +2 fuel

    bsg-game-jump-track-1.jpg
Resources: Raptors - 4; Vipers - 4 in hanger, 1 damaged; Admiral has 2 nukes
    Distance traveled: 1

    Where are you?
    Helo FTL Control
    Baltar Colonial 1 - President's Office
    Starbuck Sickbay

    Adama Admiral's Quarters

    4. Crisis!

    Scouting for Water

    Pass: +1 Food
Fail: -1 fuel and destroy 1 raptor
    OR
