Things at the bottom of threads

MKRMKR Registered User regular
At first it was a little white box, and now I see social bookmarking links. I'm assuming someone is tinkering with the code.

Any details? D:

    Exactly, what MKR said.

There is as good a chance as any that this will get no use and I will take it away. But on the other hand, it has already been used 14 times in 30 minutes. I'm sure that is partly experimentation. But I do get those kind of statistics, so if I look at it in a month and it is getting less than 50 uses per day, I'll chuck it. If it is getting more, then I'll keep it.

I already used it to quickly email a thread to someone rather than waiting for them to show up on AIM/ try to cram a message into the small inboxes.

And before someone says "FORUM SOFTWARE ALREADY DOES THIS", it's disabled.

I don't mind having it around and might experiment with it a bit but I don't like it at the centered at the bottom. I keep scrolling over it and it blocks clicking a forum link and making itself annoying. It would be nice (at least for me) if it were a little more out of the way, or even off to the right or left.

I'm with Moe on this, if possible. It's a neat function but the popup is surprising.

Don't like it myself, could we get an option to turn it off?

I just subscribe to threads and boards and do things through the User Control Panel. So much easier that way. Consequently, I haven't actually seen the forums front page for a month or so.

Still might use this, though. I do a lot of linking to Awesome Posts.

I seem to have avoided the constant popping out by never really having the cursor in that region of the screen. I don't have a gigantic resolution (1280x800), but it isn't a huge target to avoid.

Maybe I just don't use the mouse in the same way you guys do.

Yea, it seems like it's constantly blocking the last post of a page for me, and I have trouble getting it to go away again so I can read. I guess I just have a wandering mouse hand or something. If it could be made to wait til we click on it, it would be fine. Or if it was moved somewhere where it wouldn't block stuff if it pops.

The button is okay. Pointless, but it's nice that people like it.

But the mouseover popup has to go. I am deeply offended when a web page requires me to move the mouse in a certain way to avoid features.
